NorStone Copenhagen
Overview
Four modules, endless configurations. The Copenhagen system is based on a simple principle: combining elements of different heights to create a made-to-measure unit, adapted to the exact dimensions of each hi-fi component. The structure combines tubular steel and natural oak, two materials whose mechanical and visual complementarity defines the identity of this range designed by the French brand NorStone.
An architecture designed to evolve
Copenhagen consists of a base and three modules of increasing height. The base, 60 mm high, forms the foundation of the system and directly supports the other elements. Module 1 provides 186 mm of usable space for compact components such as phono preamplifiers or small integrated amplifiers. Module 2, with its 216 mm, accommodates most network players and standard-size amplifiers. Module 3, the most generous, offers 316 mm of internal height, enough for power amps or tube electronics that require substantial ventilation clearance.
Each module can be combined with the others in any order. A three-level system does not require starting with Module 1: you can place Module 3 at the bottom to support a heavy amplifier, then stack a Module 1 on top for a lighter source. This freedom of layout allows the furniture to evolve over time, adding extra tiers as the system grows with new components.
Stability and vibration control
The tubular steel structure ensures overall rigidity. Each module supports up to 50 kg, allowing the installation of heavy electronics without fear of sagging. The oak-veneered MDF shelves, with their substantial thickness, complement this architecture with their natural inertia.
Mechanical decoupling is achieved using adjustable spikes accompanied by floor protectors. This isolation system limits the transmission of vibrations between tiers and to the floor. On wooden or tiled floors, the floor protectors also safeguard the surface while maintaining effective decoupling. This careful control of micro-vibrations is particularly beneficial for turntables and CD players, whose mechanisms remain sensitive to mechanical disturbances in their environment.
Optimized ventilation and easy access
Copenhagen’s open design, with no side panels or back, promotes natural airflow around the components. Electronics that run hot, especially class A amplifiers or tube models, benefit from efficient passive heat dissipation. This continuous ventilation extends component lifespan and maintains optimal operating conditions.
The absence of panels also simplifies cable routing. Connections remain accessible from the rear and the sides, making adjustments and rewiring easier. A hook-and-loop strap, attached to the rear upright of each module, allows you to bundle and discreetly guide cables along the structure, keeping the installation neat.
Assembly and integration into your space
Each module is delivered flat-packed, with all screws, assembly instructions, and the necessary tools included. No special skills are required, and assembly takes only a few minutes per element. The external dimensions—590 mm wide by 450 mm deep—fit into most living-room layouts without encroaching excessively on floor space.
The black and natural oak finish combines the understated look of dark metal with the warmth of light wood. This Scandinavian-inspired aesthetic gives the unit a discreet presence that blends just as well with a contemporary interior as with a more traditional setting. Genuine oak, with its variations in grain and hue, adds an organic touch that laminates or melamine finishes cannot replicate.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can a module be used without the base?
No. The base is the essential foundation of the Copenhagen system. It holds the decoupling spikes that make contact with the floor and supports the first module in the stack. Without it, the structure cannot be properly stabilized.
Are the modules compatible with other NorStone ranges?
Copenhagen modules are only compatible with each other. They cannot be assembled with elements from the Spider, Esse, or other series from the brand, as their dimensions and mounting systems are different.
What is the total height of a complete Base + Module 1 + Module 2 + Module 3 setup?
The maximum configuration with all four elements reaches 916 mm (about 92 cm). This height places the components on the top level at an ergonomic position for operation, without requiring you to bend down.
Can the spikes damage a wooden floor?
The supplied floor protectors distribute the load and protect delicate surfaces. On waxed or varnished wooden floors, they prevent marks while preserving decoupling performance. For particularly sensitive floors, additional protective pads can be placed under the floor protectors.
Is it safe to install a 45 kg amplifier?
Yes. Each module supports up to 50 kg, allowing for the installation of heavy electronics. The tubular steel structure maintains its rigidity even at full load. For very massive components, Module 3, which is taller and therefore has longer uprights, offers particularly stable support.
