The Amiron family expands with an open design offering

The Amiron series translates Beyerdynamic’s expertise into lightweight and portable formats. It includes several models for different uses: the Amiron Home, wired open-back over-ear headphones for high-end home listening, the Amiron Wireless, a Bluetooth version of this model, the Amiron 100, closed in-ear earbuds with active noise cancellation, and more recently the Amiron Zero, ultra-lightweight clip earbuds for urban listening.

The Amiron 200 is not the direct successor to the Verio 200, but an independent extension of the Amiron range. Its arrival, announced at IFA 2025 in Berlin, completes the lineup with an open design offering oriented towards sports and endurance. Where the Amiron 100 isolates the listener for focused listening, the Amiron 200 maintains awareness of the sound environment.

A design that prioritizes environmental awareness

The Amiron 200 rests on the ear without penetrating the ear canal. This open configuration allows air and external sounds to circulate, avoiding any feeling of occlusion. For urban runners, this design improves safety by allowing them to hear traffic, pedestrians, and audible warnings.

The ear hooks ensure stability during movements, even intense ones. Weighing 10.2 grams per earbud, they become unnoticeable during long outings. The charging case, slightly heavier at 76 grams, adopts a compact format for transport.

The open design modifies the spatial perception of sound: the soundstage widens, reminiscent of open-back headphones rather than traditional closed earbuds. Frequencies unfold with more space, treble breathes more freely, and midrange gains natural clarity.

Balanced sound reproduction across the entire spectrum

Beyerdynamic has developed specific dynamic drivers for these earbuds. The frequency response extends from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, covering the entire audible spectrum. The rendering is characterized by rich bass, midrange that highlights voices and melodies, and precise treble.

Despite the open design that typically favors high frequencies, the bass maintains a strong presence, with detailed texture and impact that supports the music. The midrange stands out by bringing forward vocal and instrumental details. The treble remains clear without harshness, preserving listening comfort during extended sessions.

The Bluetooth 5.3 connection supports SBC and AAC codecs. The multipoint function allows simultaneous connection to two devices, facilitating switching between smartphone and computer. The range reaches 15 meters in open conditions.

Controls and customization via the app

The touch surfaces integrated into the earbuds respond to taps to control playback, adjust volume, manage calls, or activate the voice assistant. The beyerdynamic app offers an equalizer to customize the sound signature and allows reconfiguration of touch controls according to preferences.

The system integrates two microphones dedicated to phone calls and two others for ENC environmental noise reduction. This configuration filters out unwanted noise during conversations, improving voice intelligibility even in noisy environments.

The app also provides access to software updates that can bring new features or stability improvements over time.

Battery life designed for intensive use

The earbuds deliver up to 11 hours of listening on a single charge, while the case adds an additional 25 hours for a total of 36 hours. This capacity covers several days of daily use or repeated training sessions without requiring frequent recharging.

Fast charging provides 90 minutes of listening after just 5 minutes of charging. A full recharge takes less than two hours via the USB-C port or wirelessly via Qi induction. This dual option simplifies recharging: cable for speed, Qi pad for convenience.

Resistance adapted to outdoor conditions

The IP54 certification protects against dust and water splashes, making the earbuds robust enough for outings in variable weather or intensive sessions. This protection covers perspiration, light showers, and dust kicked up on trail paths.

The chosen materials withstand operating temperature variations between 0°C and +45°C, allowing use in most temperate and warm climates. For charging, the temperature range remains the same, avoiding malfunctions related to cold or excessive heat.

Three finishes to choose from

The Amiron 200 comes in three colors: black, white, and a Sport version. Each finish retains the same technical characteristics and the same weight. The choice is based on personal aesthetics and desired discretion.

The earbuds can be worn with glasses, light hats, or earrings, provided these accessories do not interfere with the ear hook. The hook placement remains compatible with most standard eyeglass frames.
