The Classic Series Model 24 from Clic is an audio-video cabinet designed by Mike Fabricius, the brand’s founder. It measures 202 cm in width with a depth of 26.5 cm and is divided into four compartments. Its design aims to combine minimalist Danish styling with functionality tailored to audio installations, allowing for cable management, amplifiers, and other equipment while maintaining proper acoustic handling of devices.
Handcrafted design
The manufacture of the Model 24 is based on a construction technique developed by Mike Fabricius that eliminates the need for a fixed back panel while ensuring remarkable structural stability. This method allows the cabinet to support considerable loads despite the absence of a traditional rear structure. Each unit is assembled and then hand-painted in Danish workshops, following time-honored craftsmanship principles where joints and connections are worked until edges are perfectly crisp and closures airtight.
The finish uses a particularly durable, water-based paint, applied by hand after the cabinet is fully assembled. This process not only guarantees a superior finish quality but also perfect surface uniformity, with no visible seams or assembly marks. Materials are sourced exclusively from carefully selected Danish suppliers, perpetuating a local tradition of excellence in woodworking and metalworking.
Modular configuration
The Model 24 features four independent compartments, each equipped with an adjustable shelf and a removable back panel. This spatial division allows for organizing different types of equipment while maintaining physical separation between components that may interfere with each other. The internal dimensions of each compartment (322 mm high by 482 mm wide) have been calculated to accommodate the majority of audio-video equipment on the market.
This modularity extends to the possibility of combining different Clic models side by side, creating custom configurations tailored to each space and system. The Clic range includes a total of 73 different models across four depths, five widths, and five heights, offering virtually limitless combination possibilities.
Acoustic management and equipment concealment
The acoustic fabric doors are one of the key innovations of the Model 24. Available in ten carefully selected colors (Charcoal, Frost, Coffee, Black, Dark Blue, Concrete, Latte, Basalt Gray, White, and Olive Green), these doors allow sound to pass through without noticeable alteration while visually concealing the equipment. The fabric used has acoustically engineered properties to avoid sound coloration or frequency attenuation.
Unlike deeper models, the Model 24 with its 26.5 cm depth has been designed specifically for wall mounting and cannot be fitted with aluminum legs or casters. This makes it an ideal solution for compact spaces where the footprint must be minimal. The robust construction nevertheless enables secure wall mounting even with substantial loads.
Magnetic back panels, positioned 5 cm from the rear of the cabinet, create a natural airflow channel and facilitate cable routing. These panels can be removed individually as needed, providing access to the full depth of the compartment (254 mm without the back panel in open configuration, 238 mm with doors). The integrated cable pass-throughs in the top and bottom panels enable discreet cable organization between different levels and compartments.
Technical compatibilities and limitations
Due to its 26.5 cm depth, the Model 24 has certain limitations: it cannot accommodate drawers, unlike the deeper models in the range. It also does not allow for vinyl or binder storage, as these functions require a minimum depth of 37.5 cm. This constraint reflects the deliberate choice to favor compactness for optimal wall integration.
The cabinet is not suitable for directly integrating a soundbar inside the standard compartments. Only the special “S” versions of the Clic range offer this option with specifically sized compartments. This technical limitation stems from the acoustic dimensions required for the proper operation of modern soundbars.
The 16 mm thick shelves can be positioned at three different levels, allowing the usable height to be adjusted according to the equipment. Additional shelves can be ordered to further subdivide the internal space if necessary. Each shelf comfortably supports the weight of standard audio-video equipment thanks to the rigidity of the internal metal structure.
