Cardas XLR Clear Reflection (XLR Analog Audio Cables)
Cardas designed the Clear Reflection by combining two of its lines: the musical fullness of the Golden Reference and the speed of the Clear series. The result is a balanced XLR cable that aims for straightforward neutrality, without the dryness sometimes associated with highly analytical interconnects.
The conductors are 99.9999% pure oxygen-free copper, gauged according to the golden ratio (from 41 to 39 AWG) around a matched-propagation Kevlar core. The structure is based on a crossfield geometry and a suspended air-tube twisted pair, insulated with PFA. The outer air tubes, enlarged by a factor of 1.618, keep the dual shielding of tin-plated copper and magnet wire away from the signal. Terminated with copper-plated SRCA or CG XLR-CU connectors, hand-assembled in Oregon.
In listening, the Clear Reflection favors treble extension, speed, and a silent background, while retaining a slight tolerance that forgives somewhat lively systems. It performs equally well over short interconnect runs and long lengths, making it practical for connecting sources, preamplifiers, and amplifiers.
