The RKB-850 is equipped with a function allowing the transfer of the analog or digital input signal present at input A to all other channels, thus saving installation time and additional wiring. The analog signal from input A can also be converted to mono, allowing two channels to have a mono output from a stereo signal. If, simultaneously, input A is set to mono and the transfer function to other channels is activated, then all 8 channels will share and output the same mono signal.

This mode is ideal for covering large spaces when traditional stereo listening is not necessary, for example to create a sound ambiance or for commercial applications. An RS-232 port on the rear allows connection to a home automation system for control and feedback. The RKB-850 is equipped with only analog inputs with four pairs of RCA connectors.

The RKB-850 and RKB-D850 share many common features, including 12-volt triggers, multiple speaker output terminals, a pre-out analog audio output for connecting other RKBs, and an IEC-type power socket with a detachable cord. Their height of only 2U allows them to take up minimal space in a rack configuration, and the RKBs can also be stacked on top of each other without the need to leave space between them, thus optimizing their installation in a rack.
