Overview

Most distributed audio systems suffer from poor acoustic performance. The new IC-8T-SW recessed ceiling subwoofer is a completely different story. Designed to enhance musical performance, this discreet, easy-to-install subwoofer is a transformer-less model for 70.7 V/100 V distributed line systems. Since transformers severely limit subwoofer capabilities, this unique model is perfectly suited for quality commercial sound systems.

With its 203 mm woofer, 203 mm drone, polypropylene cones, and high-temperature voice coils in the woofer, the IC-SW-8T subwoofer enhances any ceiling sound system. Unlike most subwoofers that use a vent for power reinforcement, the IC-8T-SW model uses a passive bandpass device. This eliminates much of the distortion and reduces the turbulence often present in resonant models. An impressive continuous power of 111 dB can be achieved. And thanks to an AES sensitivity of 92 dB, the IC-8T-SW subwoofer delivers good acoustic power levels from moderate amplifier power.

Other key features of the IC-8T-SW subwoofer include easy switching between low and high impedance in distributed line applications, as well as a choice of mono-channel and dual-channel inputs in low impedance modes. This robust subwoofer has an ABS plastic acoustic screen, a sheet steel rear housing, and a four-terminal input connector.

The IC-8T-SW enclosure comes with a ceiling tile bracket for installation in a suspended ceiling or when additional ceiling reinforcement is required.
