The DS-A2 is compatible with the following models: 3rd generation iPod with buttons and “Touch Wheel” (software 2.2 and later); 4th generation iPod with “Click Wheel” (version I3.0.2 and later); or iPod photo (software 1.0 and later). The 4th generation iPod and iPod minis offer much more than basic functions (depending on your receiver/amplifier): shuffle for songs and albums, Repeat modes, Backlight duration, and Playlist/Album modes.
