The Clearaudio Emotion SE is a manual belt-drive turntable that combines elegant design with advanced technology to deliver outstanding audio performance. This package includes the Satisfy Kardan Silver Carbon tonearm and the Artist v2 moving coil cartridge.

Chassis and Platter

The Emotion SE’s chassis is made of specially designed semi-transparent acrylic to eliminate resonance phenomena. This optimized design ensures remarkable stability and sound clarity.

The 30 mm thick PMMA acrylic platter is precisely CNC machined. It is driven by a silicone belt connected to a decoupled synchronous motor. This motor is encapsulated in a solid metal housing, completely separated from the chassis, to isolate the turntable from vibrations.

The turntable rests on Clearaudio’s patented magnetic ceramic bearing (CMB) system. This exclusive technology provides excellent rotational stability and speed accuracy of ± 0.02%.

Satisfy Kardan Silver Carbon Tonearm

The Satisfy Kardan Silver Carbon is a high-performance radial tonearm that incorporates several advanced features. It uses direct wiring, allowing the audio signal to travel uninterrupted from the cartridge to the phono preamplifier, thus preserving signal purity. The tonearm tube is made of lightweight yet rigid carbon fiber, while the headshell is aluminum for optimal resonance control.

The vertical bearing of the tonearm features a polished tungsten shaft and a sapphire bearing, ensuring precise and smooth movement. The two horizontal bearings use robust ceramic material for increased durability. The anti-skating force is magnetically adjusted and can be easily locked with a screw located near the tonearm bearing. The Satisfy Kardan Silver Carbon is designed to be compatible with a wide range of turntables and cartridges, making it a versatile choice for audiophiles looking to upgrade their analog setup.

Clearaudio Artist V2 MM Cartridge

The Artist V2 moving magnet (MM) cartridge is part of Clearaudio’s V2 range. Each cartridge in this series is meticulously measured, analyzed, and hand-selected. This rigorous sorting ensures minimal distortion and phase errors, an ultra-linear frequency response from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, and a wide dynamic range.

The body of the Artist V2 cartridge is machined from ebony wood. This noble material was chosen for its excellent neutrality and resonance damping properties. With a mass of 8.4g, this cartridge pairs ideally with the Satisfy Kardan tonearm.

Its elliptical diamond mounted on an aluminum cantilever offers precise reading of micro-grooves. The channel separation of 24 dB at 1 kHz and the channel balance of 0.8 dB attest to its performance.

With an output voltage of 3.6mV at 1kHz, the Artist V2 delivers a generous signal, easily exploitable by any good MM phono preamplifier. Its coil impedance of 0.66 kΩ is perfectly suited to 47 kΩ MM inputs. The recommended load capacitance is 100pF.

This highly versatile cartridge can read grooves up to 80μm and support a tracking force of 2.2g ± 0.3g. Its compliance of 15μ/mN provides excellent trackability, even on slightly warped vinyl records.
