Overview

The Hydra ZPM power supply module is the way to significantly improve the Hydra Z USB interface by adding an ultra-linear external power supply specially dedicated to audio. Hydra ZPM leaves the previous Hydra X battery-based power supply far behind. ZPM incorporates a total capacity of 2x310 µF ready to provide energy with low internal impedance in a durable and reliable way compared to a battery solution.

Charging this enormous capacity is not neglected: it is entrusted to a specialized circuit with a processor. With the capacitors fully charged - which can take about 4 hours! - the output voltage will remain resolutely constant as long as the module is powered on.

The ZPM design is exclusively linear: it does not incorporate any technology based on switching mode and is protected from all types of noise usually produced by non-linear power supplies.

In addition to the 5 V digital power supply, an output extension is available. ZPM can be equipped with a very low noise power output regulated by discrete components, capable of providing symmetrical voltages from ±12 V to ±24 V and intended to power analog sources.
