Overview

SUPREMUS is a large-gauge cable suitable for all types of speakers and amplifiers. It features new technologies and manufacturing techniques never before seen in a QED product. For example, its single-strand copper structure benefits from a specific insulation: each single strand is wrapped in ceramic to avoid interactions between strands and promote perfect timing of the audio signal. AirCore technology is also integrated to avoid the skin effect.

Cross-section Supremus uses a 6.2mm2 cable cut with two groups of 16 silver-plated, oxygen-free copper (OFC) conductors. To ensure ultra-low resistance across the entire audio frequency range, they have undergone cryogenic treatment. This consequently maintains a compact, controlled and melodious bass response.

A new electrostatic insulation of the conductors The conductors are individually insulated by an almost invisible layer of enamel. This material was chosen because it has very good insulating properties and sets new standards in the insulation hierarchy.

QED’s Aircore Technologies QED’s exclusive Aircore technology keeps inductance and capacitance at extremely low levels. This modifies the magnetic field in the cable to ensure that high frequencies pass through the center of the conductor. The result is an unmatched level of high-frequency detail and perfect timing of the audio signal.

SUPREMUS banana plugs with QED Airloc The cables are supplied pre-assembled with the brand new SUPREMUS Rhodium contact plugs using the famous Airloc technology. Compared to a traditional banana plug, the Airloc plug is crimped concentrically so that the conductor is integral with the cable. The lock ensures maximum surface contact between the plug and the terminal block.
