The Clarify is a high-end tonearm designed by the German manufacturer ClearAudio to equip high-fidelity turntables. Combining cutting-edge technology and premium materials, this tonearm promises precise, distortion-free playback of vinyl grooves for optimal sound reproduction.

Innovative Frictionless Design

The Clarify stands out with its unique design utilizing magnetic bearing technology. Unlike traditional tonearms, there is no mechanical contact between moving parts, thereby eliminating all friction. This frictionless operation ensures pure audio signal transmission without any interference. The tonearm is also completely resistant to unwanted resonances, guaranteeing faithful reproduction of the original recording.

The tonearm’s structure combines several premium materials: a carbon fiber tube for rigidity and lightness, a silver anodized aluminum base, and a solid aluminum headshell. This combination offers an excellent stiffness-to-mass ratio, crucial for minimizing parasitic vibrations.

Precision and Versatility for Audiophiles

The Clarify is designed to accommodate a wide range of cartridges, supporting models weighing between 2.5 and 17 grams. This versatility allows audiophiles to experiment with different configurations to achieve the ideal sound.

Tracking force adjustment is performed with surgical precision thanks to a counterweight equipped with a micrometric vernier. This system allows adjustments accurate to a tenth of a gram, essential for optimizing cartridge performance while preserving records.

Azimuth (the vertical alignment of the cartridge) can also be finely adjusted via a screw located under the headshell. These adjustment options enable users to fully exploit the potential of each cartridge, regardless of its geometry.

Uncompromising Signal Transmission

ClearAudio has paid special attention to the audio signal transmission of the Clarify. The internal wiring uses high-quality conductors, ensuring a direct and uninterrupted path from the cartridge to the RCA output connectors.

The included connection cable, a 1.1-meter ClearAudio Direct Wire Plus model, is specifically designed to preserve signal integrity. Its dual mono structure with separate grounding and high-purity oxygen-free copper conductors ensures optimal transmission of the micro-details captured by the cartridge.

Optimized Geometry for Precise Playback

With an effective length of 9 inches (239.31 mm), the Clarify offers an excellent balance between tracking precision and compactness. Its offset angle of 23 degrees and overhang of 17.31 mm are calculated to minimize tracking distortion throughout the record’s playback.

The pivot-to-stylus distance of 222 mm provides excellent stability, while the tonearm height is adjustable for optimal vertical tracking angle (VTA) settings. These carefully designed geometric features contribute to precise and fatigue-free playback of vinyl grooves.

Easy Integration with Various Turntables

Although designed to perform at its best on high-end ClearAudio turntables like the Ovation, the Clarify easily adapts to many other brands. Its Linn/ClearAudio-type mounting base (24.85 mm diameter) is a widely used standard.

For turntables without this type of mounting, ClearAudio offers the VTA-Lifter, an accessory that allows fine height adjustments, even during playback. This flexibility makes the Clarify a relevant choice for upgrading an existing turntable or building a custom system.
