Type 5 Speaker Cable

The Type 4 speaker cable model was first introduced around 1983. It wasn’t the prettiest cable, but the performance advantage of its polypropylene insulation was spectacular and highly appreciated. Several evolutionary steps later, the current version of the Type 4 was introduced in 1995 - a design whose foundation is so well balanced that it hasn’t changed since - and still isn’t changing.

The Type 5 low-distortion, low-noise speaker cable is essentially Type 4, with better metal and conductors spaced a bit further apart, reducing interaction between adjacent conductors by 35%.

Red River Interconnect Cable

Perfect-Surface Copper, or PSC, has an astonishingly smooth and pure surface. Proprietary metal processing technology protects the conductor’s surface at every stage of drawing and fabrication. When super pure low-oxide copper is kept as soft, pure and smooth as possible, it becomes an extraordinarily low-distortion conductor. For over 30 years AudioQuest has pioneered the use of superior metals, yet even we were surprised by this huge leap in performance. PSC clearly outperforms previous AQ metals that cost over ten times as much. Electrical and magnetic interaction between strands in a conventional cable is the greatest source of distortion, often causing a somewhat harsh, dirty sound. Solid conductors play a vital role in delivering very clean sound.

NRG-Z3 Power Cable

NRG-Z3 cables use Directionally-Controlled Perfect-Surface Copper (PSC) strands in a semi-solid 7-strand concentric arrangement in which the strands are more tightly packed and never change position within the bundle. This construction significantly reduces strand interaction distortion. The extremely pure and smooth-surfaced PSC conductors minimize distortion caused by grain boundaries that exist within any metal conductor.

The NRG-Z3’s GND (Ground-Noise Dissipation) and Directionally-Controlled Silver-Plated shield conductors efficiently drain RF noise from the line and neutral shields to earth via the third “ground” pin. In addition, the NRG-Z3’s silver-plated shield conductors The NRG-Z3’s common-mode phase-canceling network provides additional linear differential filtering. The net result is powerful, dynamic, and immersive!
