Vogel's TVS 3690 black
Vogel’s TVS 3690 black, swivel steel TV stand
Install a large TV without drilling a single hole: this freestanding black steel stand places the screen directly on the floor, in the middle of the living room, in a corner or in front of a window. It accommodates screen diagonals from 102 to 196 cm weighing up to 50 kg, is height-adjustable and swivels up to 90° with a gentle push. The picture faces the sofa, dining table or armchair, depending on the time of day.
A steel stand that frees up the walls
The TVS 3690 stands on its own, on a base 842 mm wide and 554 mm deep, with a total height of 1,100 mm. The entire unit is made of steel with a black finish and requires no wall mounting. This independence matters in a rented home, against a plasterboard partition that would struggle to support a loaded articulated arm, or in an open-plan room where the TV belongs away from the walls. The trade-off for this freedom is a larger floor footprint than a wall mount, and the lack of castors: moving the stand means lifting it.
When the screen is installed in the middle of a room, its back remains visible. Vogel’s offers the TVA 6301 felt rear cover for this situation, covering the back of the unit.
Swivel the screen with your fingertips, adjust the height without dismantling
Rotation relies on a single pivot point and Vogel’s OneFinger Movement mechanism: the screen turns up to 90° with very little effort, without having to grip the TV with both hands. This movement is enough to switch from viewing from the sofa to viewing from the open-plan kitchen, or to eliminate a window reflection in the late afternoon.
The height can also be adjusted once the TV is attached. This is a real convenience during installation: you can position the screen, sit down, assess it, then raise or lower the picture without taking everything down. For seated viewing, the centre of the screen should ideally be roughly at eye level, helping to reduce neck strain during a long film.
VESA compatibility: check your TV’s dimensions
The VESA standard defines the spacing between the four threaded holes on the back of TVs. The TVS 3690 accepts all mounting hole spacings from 100 × 100 mm to 600 × 400 mm, meaning 100 to 600 mm horizontally and 100 to 400 mm vertically, covering the vast majority of screens from 40 to 77 inches. The mounting interface, consisting of bars and strips, extends up to 660 mm wide and 430 mm high.
The fixing kit includes M6 and M8 bolts in several lengths, washers and 5 and 10 mm spacers. Three criteria must be met together: the screen diagonal, the VESA hole spacing and the 50 kg weight limit. A screen that meets only two of these three limits is not suitable.
Cables kept tidy along the column
Power, HDMI and network cables run through the notch at the back of the column. They run down to the floor together rather than hanging behind the screen, which matters when the stand is visible from all sides.
The stand accepts two optional accessories offered by Vogel’s. The SOUND 3550 bracket attaches a soundbar beneath the TV, allowing it to follow the screen as it swivels and keeping the picture and sound aligned. The TVA 6400 holder accommodates a media box, a TV box or a small network player, held against the column rather than placed on the floor.
Assembly, certification and ten-year warranty
The box contains the stand, mounting interface, fixing kit, protective pads that prevent any direct contact between the metal and the back of the TV, a quick installation guide and an Allen key. The instructions also call for a large Phillips screwdriver and a 4 mm Allen key.
The TVS 3690 is certified by TÜV, an independent organisation that checks the strength and safety of mounts, and Vogel’s provides a 10-year warranty.

Frequently asked questions
How can I find out my TV's VESA mounting pattern?
It is listed in the TV’s manual or technical specifications, often as “VESA 300 × 300” or equivalent. If not, simply measure the distance between the centres of the threaded holes on the back of the screen, first horizontally, then vertically. Both measurements must fall within the ranges supported by the stand.
Can a lightweight 83- or 85-inch TV be installed?
No. Even under 50 kg, these screen diagonals exceed the 196 cm specified by Vogel’s, and their VESA mounting hole spacing often exceeds 600 × 400 mm. The stand’s balance and the size of the mounting interface are designed for screens up to 77 inches.
What are the 5 and 10 mm spacers used for?
They space the interface away from the back of the TV. They are used when the mounting holes are recessed into the casing, when the back of the screen has raised contours or when a connector is located directly behind the mounting area. They provide a flat support surface and prevent strain on the casing when tightening the screws.
Is this stand suitable for a very thin OLED TV?
Yes. Rotating it takes little effort, so there is no need to push on a fragile panel, and the supplied protective pads separate the back of the screen from the metal bars. To rotate a very thin model, it is best to press near the edge of the frame rather than in the middle of the panel.
Are two people needed for installation?
The stand can easily be assembled by one person. Mounting a large-screen TV on the interface is safer with two people: one person positions the TV, while the other guides the hooks and checks that they are securely engaged before letting go.
Can the stand be placed on a rug or carpet?
It rests on a flat, stable floor. A thin rug is not a problem, but thick carpeting or a deep-pile rug may cause the column to tilt slightly under the weight of the screen. In this case, it is best to check that it is upright after installation or place the base directly on the hard floor.
