Overview

The i7-XR is part of the first wave of products, announcing the new XR series of Cyrus components. Only the die-cast housing is the same, but everything else has changed. With cutting-edge engineering inside, an all-new phantom black paint finish, touch controls and a customizable higher resolution display for brightness, contrast and polarity, the XR’s high-quality finish makes a bold statement.

Amplifier

The i7-XR’s wideband power amplifier responds from DC to beyond 100 kHz, ensuring a flat frequency response and preventing any undesirable phase shift in the audio band. With a generous and over-specified power supply, the i7-XR power amplifier delivers music with a scale and authority that belies its rated power of 52 W.

All-new analog preamplifier

Derived from the new high-end Pre-XR preamplifier, the i7-XR analog preamp features relay input selection and a new high-performance gain stage. This short-path design makes the analog preamplifier extremely transparent. With four analog inputs and MM phono, the i7-XR will cover just about any system requirement for analog connectivity.

XR digital performance

The i7-XR’s DAC input stage includes a new 2nd generation version of the award-winning QXR DAC, but with an all-new high-speed analog buffer stage. Seven user-adjustable digital filter alignment options are available to suit the listener’s taste. Input options include USB audio (at a sampling rate of 768k) and DSD up to DSD512, 2 SPDIF digital inputs and 2 optical digital inputs.
