QED Reference XLR 40 3M cable

The Audio 40 cable is primarily designed for its low electrical capacitance, a factor identified by QED as key to a high-fidelity listening experience. This ensures precise sound that preserves the timing of the original recording. Additional measures have been taken to eliminate minute timing errors in the cable. A floating Zn/Mn ferrite jacket absorbs ultra-high frequency signals outside the audio band.

QED’s unique Tri-ConductorTM technology uses a third conductor that is wound entirely around the two main conductors to carry the earth return. This limits the capacitive effect of the earth return to almost negligible levels, allowing the cable to improve its rejection of interference from mains hum compared to ordinary hot/cold cables. The entire braided shield is connected in electrostatic mode to provide an unprecedented level of resistance to pollution from high voltage electrical currents.
