Overview

The design of the new VP speakers was computer modeled to ensure consistent frequency response and sound signature at any sound pressure level, while significantly minimizing distortion at high volumes. The tweeter features a compression chamber that lowers its resonance frequency, reduces pressure on the tweeter dome, and allows using a lower crossover frequency than the woofer while reducing distortion near that frequency.

The sound dispersion cone has a much wider opening than “standard” speakers (+/- 60°), providing more flexibility in installation, as it is possible to offset the speaker without compromising perceived audio quality.

The woofer is designed to move 3 times more than that of a standard speaker, delivering more present and precise low frequencies. Both woofer and tweeter benefit from low diffraction. In addition, the drivers have been positioned further forward to reduce acoustic reflection issues and increase the precision of the acoustic image. Finally, the driver block can pivot in all directions at a 13° angle. The tweeter can also pivot independently by 13°, allowing precise adjustment of high-frequency spatialization. The die-cast aluminum baffle increases the rigidity of the speaker and sound clarity.

Lastly, the speaker’s protective grille has a temporary protective fabric on the back that will prevent any drips when painting it.
