Solid conductors
Strand interaction remains the greatest potential source of distortion in cables. Solid conductors are the ideal and most complete solution to this problem. However, well-designed multi-conductor geometries, such as concentric windings, are used to create our semi-solid conductor technologies. These avoid many strand distortion mechanisms and are ideal for a growing number of applications.
High purity metal
Higher purity conductor metals, with smoother surfaces and internal crystal structures, significantly reduce noise and distortion. Carefully selected metal blends and conductor sizes can be used to define a cable’s sonic signature - a cost-effective technique for high-value, high-performance models.
Noise dissipation
Unwanted radio frequency (RF) noise is and always has been picked up and induced into cables. This contamination ultimately masks and distorts critical parts of the audio/video signal. As this distortion-generating RF (parasitic) signal is more prevalent today than at any other time in history, we must rely on a broader arsenal of noise dissipation technologies:
Dielectric
Insulation is necessary between conductors to minimize signal interaction and electrical shorts. The ideal is near-zero dielectric interaction (as achieved with our ZERO technology). However, by optimizing the dielectric material between signal conductors, this distortion is largely minimized.
