ATI AT543NC 3-Channel Power Amplifier

Well-Managed Power

The ATI AT543NC is a three-channel amplifier, delivering a phenomenal 500W per channel into 8Ω in Class D. It uses Hypex N-Core Class D output modules, paired with input buffers designed by ATI and linear power supplies. This amplifier is the first in the ATI range to use microprocessor control for turn-on delay and automatic AC power recognition and configuration. It can recognize whether it is connected to a nominal 117V or 230V supply and automatically configures itself accordingly.

Power Supply

The amplifier also incorporates an innovative “sleep” circuit. If no input signal is detected for a period of 10 minutes, power is cut from the output modules and an LED on the front panel begins to flash. As soon as an input signal is detected on any channel, normal playback operation resumes instantly.

Thoughtful Connectivity

The rear of the ATI AT543NC reveals well-thought-out connectivity. Unbalanced (RCA) and balanced (XLR) inputs for each channel offer maximum flexibility. The toggles next to the RCA jacks allow switching between unbalanced and balanced operation, adapting the system to your preferences.

Functional Design

The sleek and elegant front panel features the ATI logo and LEDs indicating peak level and standby. The power switch, underscored by a blue LED, adds a modern touch. The soft start minimizes power surges, providing subtle protection.

Magical Listening

Let’s get to the heart of the matter: the sound. The ATI AT543NC excels in balance and clarity. Instruments express themselves with exceptional precision, each note vibrating with astonishing clarity. The bass is powerful, the midrange open, and the treble crystalline. A perfect balance, regardless of volume. Voices, whether male or female, were reproduced with impressive fidelity. Even with complex recordings, clarity and balance were preserved.

Comparisons and Choices

When comparing the ATI AT543NC to other amplifiers, such as the Parasound Halo A 31, nuances emerge. The ATI offers richer lower mids, a slight tilt towards warmth, and an overall more enveloping sonic experience. The differences are subtle, but for discerning audiophiles, they make all the difference.
