Sound Quality

At the heart of the XtraX is a micro-elliptical stylus made from solid nude diamond, promising exceptional tracking ability. This stylus is mounted on a telescopic cantilever made from two different aluminum materials, maximizing rigidity and minimizing resonance. The result is a cartridge that delivers a wide-band frequency response, from below 10 Hz up to 45 kHz, and an output of 0.45 mV. This ensures a realistic dynamic range with depth and precision, allowing for a musical experience that is both immersive and emotionally engaging.

The low-mass generator uses a Samarium-Cobalt magnet and a cross coil made from pure virgin copper wire, which is mounted in the high-mass body using a Quad-Point Contact with four stainless steel ‘point’ screws. Additionally, the alignment ridge on the front helps mount the XtraX on any Vertere tonearm, ensuring perfect alignment and easy installation.

Compatibility and Versatility

Vertere Acoustics has designed the XtraX to be compatible with a wide range of tonearms, thanks to the alignment ridge and three specially designed CNC-machined contact points on the top of the body. This guarantees the exact mechanical coupling required for optimal performance. The threaded cartridge body also accepts the supplied stainless steel thumb screws for correct coupling to the tonearm’s headshell.
