A Titanium Body Machined by SLM Technology

The body of the MC Verismo is made of titanium using the selective laser melting (SLM) process. A Replicant 100 Diamond on a Diamond Cantilever

For its cartridge, Ortofon has selected its Replicant 100 diamond, a specially polished nude line contact stylus. The groove reading is performed with optimal precision, for the most faithful reproduction, minimal distortion, and extended bandwidth.

This Replicant 100 diamond is mounted on a solid diamond cantilever. The use of this material establishes the best possible interface with the generator, thanks to its hardness and perfect crystalline structure. The combination of this stylus and cantilever pushes the limits of analog reproduction in terms of detail, subtlety, and depth.

An Advanced Low-Mass Generator

The generator of the MC Verismo consists of an armature made of a metal alloy less magnetic than iron. During movements, it has almost no influence on the magnetic field. Additionally, it allows for extreme precision in winding each layer. The cartridge thus achieves a high degree of channel separation, with optimized distortion and channel balance.

The Aucurum coils made of 6NX oxygen-free copper plated with gold ensure lossless transmission of the diamond’s movements via the cantilever. The assembly features a reduced moving mass combined with very high rigidity.

The powerful neodymium magnet completes this compact and lightweight generator. It captures groove variations with great precision, even at high levels.

An Exclusive Damping System

To manage the interaction between compliance and damping, Ortofon has developed a new elastomer-based compound loaded with carbon nanotubes. Integrated into the suspension, it provides excellent mechanical properties that ensure uniform damping across the entire bandwidth.

The MC Verismo also benefits from Ortofon’s proprietary Field Stabilizing Element (FSE). A small heavy platinum cylinder is placed between two dampers with different characteristics.
