The V5 Corvus from the British brand IsoTek is a power strip designed to distribute purified current to your audio and video devices. An evolution of the award-winning Polaris model, the Corvus stands out with its 9 independent power outlets. Design and Technologies

The main difference between the V5 Corvus and most current-filtering power strips lies in its electrical architecture. Indeed, the 9 outlets are not connected in series but each is directly linked to the central printed circuit board. This prevents cross-contamination between outlets by differential mode noise generated by connected devices (audio components).

Innovative Delta Filtering

The V5 Corvus implements a unique delta filtering topology, ten times superior to the recommended standard. It offers noise reduction of over 20 dB at 1 kHz (reference 600 ohms), and even 42 dB at 10 kHz. It is from this frequency of 10 kHz that radio frequency interference (RFI) begins to degrade performance, related to the noise rejection capacity of amplifiers’ power supplies. This design ensures top-notch performance for eliminating both common mode (RFI) and differential noise.

High-Quality Components

To achieve this result, the printed circuit board benefits from a copper coating twice as thick as the standard, silver-plated. The internal wiring is also of exceptional quality with 6N pure oxygen-free copper (OFC) strands, silver-plated, offering low resistance and supporting high current. The aerospace-grade fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP) dielectric sheath provides very low dielectric resistance.

Optimized Power Distribution

Thanks to this advanced circuit, each of the 9 outlets receives clean power, without cross-contamination by differential mode noise. Additionally, IsoTek’s KERP (Kirchhoff’s Equal Resistance Path) system ensures equal resistance and thus balanced power distribution to all outlets.

Enhanced Protection

In this V5 version, surge protection has been increased to 45,000 A. This not only protects the Corvus itself but also your valuable connected equipment, thanks to IsoTek’s proprietary sequential and repeatable protection system.
