The NuPrime IA-9X is an integrated amplifier that showcases the power of modern audio technology. It stands out for its ultra-low distortion characteristics and strong driving capability, making it a top choice for audiophiles seeking a high-fidelity sound experience.
The IA-9X is equipped with NuPrime’s unique Oscillation Distortion Cancellation (ODC) circuit, which ensures ultra-low distortion for neutral and detailed sound. This makes it ideal for studio monitoring or enjoying music with lots of dynamics, like Rock & Roll.
In addition to the ODC circuit, the IA-9X also features a harmonic generation circuit that uses Class A transistors. This circuit generates a slightly warm, rich sound with a harmonious decay, similar to that of a vacuum tube amplifier. This unique combination of circuits allows the IA-9X to offer a customizable sound experience tailored to the listener’s preferences.
The IA-9X is a powerhouse, with an output of 90W RMS at 8Ω and 145W RMS at 4 Ohms. It can also deliver a peak power of 100W at 8Ω and 160W at 4 Ohms. This high output power, combined with the amplifier’s ultra-low distortion characteristics and strong driving force, ensures that the IA-9X can drive your speakers with precision and control.
The IA-9X offers a range of input options, including an MM phono input, two analog stereo RCA inputs, and an analog stereo XLR input. The phono input is particularly noteworthy, as it includes a variety of settings for input resistances and capacitors to match different MM cartridges. This makes the IA-9X an excellent choice for vinyl enthusiasts.
The amplifier also includes output options such as analog stereo RCA and XLR outputs, and a trigger input for controlling power on/off of multiple devices. This wide range of connectivity options makes the IA-9X a versatile addition to any audio setup.
The IA-9X is designed with an emphasis on superior audio performance. It includes specifically customized audio-grade capacitors and high-current bridge rectifiers, providing fast and dynamic driving force for speakers. The input and output use a special audio relay switch, which ensures low interference and highly accurate transmission.
Unsurprisingly, NuPrime's new IA-9X lives up to its reputation as a modern and versatile integrated stereo amplifier. It's hard to say whether its sound signature is more technical than that of good all-in-one amplification modules like Hypex, but its little extras, especially the ODC circuit, prove that Class D can rhyme with audiophile nobility.

Excellent amplifier, compact and exuding quality. The difference between the two modes is not striking, far from it, but the musicality of this small integrated unit remains outstanding. Probably my amplifier for the next 15 years.

I’m giving this amplifier a solid 5 stars. Class D has made such incredible progress that it now holds its own against Class A or even A/B. To back up my claim: I’ve owned a majestic reference amplifier since 2008, the NAD M3 dual mono (Class A preamp and Class AB for the amplification section), and I’m actually selling my NAD and its hefty 26 kilos because this little NuPrime matches it completely... all connected to a pair of Cabasse Murano Alto speakers... and those are some seriously impressive speakers!
