Each year, dozens of European journalists gather to select the best electronic products of the year. Awarded by a diverse and impartial jury, the EISA (Expert Imaging and Sound Association) awards recognize exceptional products for their performance, design, or ergonomics.
The Hisense HT Saturn represents a new approach to wireless home cinema for spatial audio enthusiasts. This 4.1.2 channel system stands out with its original configuration, combining four compact satellite speakers and a wireless subwoofer, all orchestrated by an intelligent central hub. As the first Hisense audio product to benefit from the acoustic expertise of Devialet—a renowned French brand in the audiophile world—the HT Saturn delivers precise sound reproduction with a total power output of 720 watts. Compatible with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, this system positions itself as an affordable alternative to more expensive competing solutions, while offering advanced integration with Hisense televisions.
The HT Saturn adopts a minimalist aesthetic with its four monolith-shaped satellite speakers featuring a square base, measuring 122 mm wide by 196.5 mm high. These compact dimensions allow for discreet integration into any interior, whether placed on furniture or wall-mounted using the included brackets.
The wireless subwoofer, a key component for reproducing low frequencies, measures 240 × 390 × 240 mm. It houses a vertically oriented 6.5-inch driver, capable of reaching down to 40 Hz to faithfully reproduce the explosive effects of action movies.
The entire system is coordinated by a compact connectivity hub (118 × 27 × 118 mm), which becomes unobtrusive once installed near the TV. This modular design offers great placement flexibility, allowing the system to adapt to different room configurations without compromising overall aesthetics.

The HT Saturn features an elaborate audio setup with its 13 speakers distributed across the various units. The 4.1.2 channel configuration refers to the four main speakers (front left/right and rear left/right), the subwoofer (.1), and the two upward-firing speakers (.2) for vertical Dolby Atmos and DTS:X effects.
A notable feature, unlike some competing systems, is that the upward-firing speakers are only present on the rear units. This technical choice, validated by Devialet’s experts, aims to strike a balance between the front directivity needed for dialogue and the broader diffusion of ambient and vertical effects.
Compatibility with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X audio formats allows you to fully enjoy modern soundtracks available on streaming platforms like Netflix or Disney+. These technologies leverage the three-dimensional arrangement of the speakers to create a sound bubble where every effect finds its precise place in space.
The collaboration with Devialet is a major asset for the HT Saturn. This French company, renowned for its high-end speakers and innovations in signal processing, contributed its expertise to the system’s acoustic tuning.
This “Tuned by Devialet” signature is evident in the overall tonal balance, coherence between the different speakers, and dynamic sound management. Devialet’s engineers worked to optimize the system’s frequency response to avoid excessive coloration while preserving the precision and impact needed for convincing cinematic reproduction.
The resulting sound signature is characterized by an analytical and detailed approach, particularly suited to cinematic content where dialogue clarity and the precision of special effects are essential.
The HT Saturn’s central hub brings together all the connectivity options needed for seamless integration into a modern multimedia environment. The 4K-compatible HDMI input allows you to connect an external source (game console, Blu-ray player) while transmitting the video signal to the TV. The HDMI eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel) output ensures optimal sound retrieval from the TV’s built-in apps, including Dolby Atmos formats.
An optical port completes the wired options for sources without HDMI, while Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity lets you stream music from a smartphone or tablet. The USB port allows direct playback of audio files in WAV, WMA, or MP3 format.
This versatile connectivity makes it possible to integrate the HT Saturn into virtually any audiovisual ecosystem, whether it’s a simple setup centered around a TV or a more elaborate system combining multiple sources.
The HT Saturn doesn’t just faithfully reproduce soundtracks—it intelligently adapts them to different usage contexts thanks to several advanced features.
Hi-Concerto technology is a major advantage for owners of compatible Hisense TVs or projectors. It enables synchronization between the TV’s speakers and those of the audio system, turning the screen into a dedicated center channel for dialogue. This approach significantly improves speech intelligibility while enhancing spatial coherence between image and sound.
RoomFitting Tuning acoustic calibration analyzes the room’s acoustics and automatically adjusts sound parameters to compensate for environmental characteristics. This feature is especially useful in irregularly shaped spaces or those with reflective surfaces like large bay windows.
Five preset audio modes (Cinema, Music, Sport, Gaming, and AI) optimize sound output based on the content being viewed. The AI mode goes further by dynamically analyzing the signal to adjust parameters in real time, ensuring automatic adaptation without manual intervention.
Automatic power-on and power-off functions contribute to the system’s everyday ease of use, activating as soon as an audio signal is detected and entering standby after a period of inactivity.
Unlike many modern audio systems, the HT Saturn forgoes a dedicated app in favor of a more direct approach. The included remote control features a small monochrome screen, giving access to all settings and displaying essential information such as volume, selected audio mode, or advanced parameters.
This solution has the advantage of not relying on a smartphone or network connection for routine adjustments. The interface is intuitive despite the wealth of available options, with ergonomics designed to make frequent actions like changing volume or source easy.
For owners of compatible Hisense TVs, EZPlay 2.0 technology further streamlines the experience by displaying a dedicated interface directly on the TV screen. This integration deepens the synergy between the two devices and smooths daily interaction.
The HT Saturn, the result of a collaboration between Hisense and Devialet, delivers outstanding performance and excels in terms of installation and ease of use. During my test, this Dolby Atmos and DTS:X audio system truly shone. I was impressed by the smoothness of the sound and the spacious soundstage, achieved with just four satellites and a discreet subwoofer. No matter what content I listen to, I enjoy an optimal audio experience in both stereo and surround. Highly recommended!
The Hisense HT Saturn system is versatile. It offers reliable connectivity and broad compatibility with common audio formats. Its unique design allows great flexibility in positioning the four speakers and the subwoofer in your room, although the virtual center channel can impair definition and clarity for dialogue-heavy content such as news and reality TV.
The HT Saturn is compatible with any TV equipped with an HDMI or optical output. However, advanced features such as Hi-Concerto (which allows the TV’s speakers to be used as a center channel) and EZPlay 2.0 (on-screen control interface) are only available with compatible Hisense TVs. For the best experience, pairing with a TV from the same brand is recommended, though not required.
Unlike a soundbar, which concentrates most speakers in a single unit placed in front of the listener, the HT Saturn distributes its speakers all around the listening position. This setup enables true 360° sound spatialization, with authentic rear effects rather than simulated ones. The system thus provides a more natural and precise sound envelope, especially noticeable with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X content.
“Tuned by Devialet” means that engineers from this French high-end audio company participated in the system’s acoustic tuning. Specifically, they optimized amplifier behavior, crossover filtering between the different speakers, and the overall tonal balance. The benefit is a more refined sound signature, with special attention paid to precision, dynamics, and coherence between the various speakers.

Overall a very good product, the sound engineered by Devialet is more than decent for watching movies, a bit less so for anything music-related.
The only downsides for me would be the size of the 6.5" subwoofer, which lacks punch, and the Hi-concerto function, which only works within the Hisense ecosystem.
Special mention for the HOMECINESOLUTIONS team, who are very responsive and remarkably professional.
