The optimal tracking force is 2.0 grams, with an acceptable range between 1.8 and 2.2 grams. Fine-tuning the anti-skate, proportional to the tracking force, will help optimize performance and minimize wear on both the record and the stylus.

The AT-VM740xML operates ideally with a capacitive load between 150 and 250 pF and a standard load impedance of 47 kilohms, making it compatible with virtually all phono preamps for moving magnet (MM) cartridges.
