The technical core of the FH9 is based on a sophisticated hybrid architecture combining a second-generation 13.6mm DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) dynamic driver for low frequencies and six Knowles balanced armature drivers dedicated to mids and highs. This configuration marks a major evolution compared to previous generations, with the DLC driver benefiting from a redesigned magnetic circuit offering 20% higher magnetic density.

The close collaboration between FiiO and Knowles, spanning two years of development, has enabled the specific optimization of the integration of the six balanced armature drivers. High frequencies are handled by the proven SWFK-31736, while the mids benefit from a custom configuration aimed at perfect harmony between the multiple drivers. Despite integrating seven drivers per earbud, each shell weighs only 12.8g, demonstrating the optimization of the design. The stainless steel MMCX connectors are set at a specially designed angle, making connection easier while improving wearing comfort.

The FH9’s interchangeable acoustic filter system allows for fine-tuning of the sound signature according to preferences and the type of music being listened to.
