The Perlisten D8is combines an unprecedented configuration of eight 8.5-inch carbon drivers in a push-pull arrangement with an external 3000-watt amplifier, all housed in a remarkably slim extruded aluminum chassis. Its unique ability to operate in three distinct installation modes—in-wall, on-wall, or freestanding—without any sonic compromise places this model in a class of its own.

A mechanical design that defies convention

The D8is is built on a sophisticated push-pull configuration in which eight 215 mm carbon-fiber cone woofers operate in mechanical counterphase while remaining acoustically in phase. This layout generates a cancellation of mechanical forces that virtually eliminates cabinet vibration. The drivers offer a linear excursion of ± 18 mm, enabling an air displacement equivalent to that of a 24-inch woofer.

The matte black anodized aluminum chassis, less than 10 centimeters thick, remains perfectly inert even under extreme sound pressure. This structural rigidity converts all available power into pure acoustic signal, with no energy lost to parasitic resonances.

Unprecedented installation versatility

The true feat of the D8is lies in its ability to adapt to three radically different installation configurations. In standalone mode, the supplied base transforms the subwoofer into a 1.14-meter-tall acoustic sculpture. The on-wall mounting system enables a flush installation that sits perfectly against the wall. In-wall installation represents the pinnacle of integration: the D8is disappears completely into a standard partition, leaving only an optional grille visible.

This flexibility allows integrators to design spaces where acoustic performance harmoniously coexists with architectural aesthetics. The 1137.6 × 508 × 238.6 mm dimensions have been calculated to maximize compatibility with standard wall structures.

The external DSP3000A amplifier is the brain of the system. This rack unit integrates 3000 watts RMS of amplification driven by a 48-bit Ti DSP and a 32-bit ARM Cortex M4. This computing power enables microscopic signal control with microsecond response times.

The 2.8-inch color touch screen provides immediate access to settings, while the iOS/Android app unlocks the full configuration potential. The 10-band parametric EQ enables precise room correction, complemented by three user presets. THX modes—standard, boost for large rooms, and attenuation for small rooms—instantly tailor the response to the acoustic characteristics of the environment.

Connectivity and system integration

The connectivity section reflects a no-compromise approach. Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs accommodate all standards. The AES/2 digital input enables fully digital transmission for maximum purity. Unbuffered outputs simplify daisy-chaining multiple subs, crucial for Waveforming installations.

The variable low-pass filter (30–160 Hz) with selectable slopes and continuously adjustable phase (0–270°) ensure perfect integration with any speaker system. The 12V trigger and auto power-on provide seamless integration with home automation systems.

Waveforming compatibility and advanced applications

The D8is excels in Waveforming configurations developed by Trinnov. This technology uses arrays of subwoofers to create controlled low-frequency propagation, eliminating room modes.
