Clic Classic Series Model 121S

Clic’s Model 121S offers a modular solution for contemporary home cinema setups. This Danish cabinet from the Classic range, 102.4 cm wide and 45.5 cm deep, stands out for its adaptable design: full-width configuration to accommodate a soundbar, or division into two separate compartments to organize different components. Handcrafted in Hornslet and delivered fully assembled, this wall-mounted model combines technical functionality with meticulous finishing, true to the tradition of Scandinavian furniture.

Construction designed for stability and flexibility

The Model 121S relies on a specific manufacturing technique: the MDF panel is bent and then joined with dowels, creating a robust structure without requiring a fixed back panel. This method, borrowed from loudspeaker construction, allows for stronger assemblies than conventional separate-panel builds. Joints remain invisible thanks to lacquer applied by hand after assembly, producing crisp edges and perfectly closed corners.

The two rear panels of the Model 121S, mounted 5 cm from the back via a magnetic system, can be removed easily. This design offers several practical advantages: simplified access to cabling, the option to gain usable depth by removing them, and easier management of setup changes. Each rear panel can be ordered with or without cable pass-throughs, depending on routing needs.

The unit features two center bars recessed towards the back, a hallmark of Clic models designed for soundbars. This detail allows you to use the full internal width (980 mm in soundbar configuration) without obstruction, or to keep two distinct spaces of 482 mm each for other equipment. A centered cable pass-through runs through the top panel, with a second at the bottom. On request, the unit can be ordered without the top pass-through.

Finishes and customization options

The Model 121S is available in four lacquered paints (white, black, grey, light grey) and two wood veneers (oak, walnut). The water-based polyurethane lacquer used is UV-resistant and retains its color over time. This robust paint, applied by hand after assembly, ensures a uniform finish right down to the most discreet joints.

Available in an open version or equipped with a single large door, the unit accepts wood or fabric doors. The fabric doors, offered in ten colors (charcoal, frost, coffee, black, dark blue, concrete, latte, basalt grey, white, olive green), deserve special attention: their specially designed acoustic fabric lets sound pass through without perceptible alteration while remaining transparent to infrared remote signals. This dual transparency — acoustic and electronic — allows equipment to be completely concealed while retaining full functionality. The door opens downward, making it easy to access contents without encroaching on lateral space.

Note that the Model 121S does not accept drawers, unlike other models in the Classic Series. This limitation stems from its specific design for soundbars and its recessed center bars.

Exclusive wall mounting

The Model 121S mounts exclusively on the wall via the Clic mounting system. The wall brackets, level-adjustable, pull the unit firmly against the wall. This unique mounting method (no compatible aluminum feet or casters) is explained by the unit’s 45.5 cm depth, a mid-range position within the Classic line, which also includes depths of 26.5 cm, 37.5 cm, and 55 cm.

Aluminum or brass cable cover plates (available in silver, black, or brass) complete the installation by elegantly concealing the wires connecting the unit to the wall-mounted screen. Five types of plates are available, all engraved with the discreet Clic logo.

Cable management and ventilation

The Model 121S cable management system prioritizes discretion. The pass-throughs running through the top and bottom panels allow you to connect multiple Clic units together or route connections to other devices. The removable rear panels create a 5 cm space where cables can run out of sight, a more aesthetic solution than external conduits.

For heat-generating equipment (game consoles, amplifiers), an optional ventilation system mounts under the top panel. This compact fan (13 × 15 cm) switches on automatically at 30 °C and stops once the temperature drops again. Its installation requires a pass-through in the top panel, a point to consider when placing the initial order.

A modular and scalable range

The Model 121S is part of a modular system comprising 73 models across four depths and five widths. This modularity allows multiple units to be arranged side-by-side or vertically, creating customized compositions that adapt as your setup evolves. The Model 121S differs from its cousin, the Model 121 (without the S suffix), through its center bars specifically positioned for soundbar configurations, offering greater layout flexibility.

Within the 45.5 cm depth, the range also includes models 111, 121, 131, and 131S, allowing you to build cohesive sets for more complex installations. Specially designed magnetic feet make it easy to stack multiple modules while keeping them precisely aligned.
