Clic Classic Series Model 232
Overview
The Model 232 from Clic is a 152 cm-wide hi-fi cabinet featuring three modular compartments. It comes with removable magnetic back panels and hand-applied paint, offering a storage solution that combines functionality with minimalist Scandinavian design.
Modularity taken to its logical conclusion
The Model 232 consists of three identical compartments, each of which can be configured independently in four distinct ways. A compartment can remain open, feature a door (wood or fabric), or be fitted with two drawers. This modularity allows for 64 different configurations for a single unit.
Each open compartment or compartment with a door includes a 16 mm-thick shelf and a removable back panel. The shelves can be positioned at three different heights, and additional shelves are available as options. The internal dimensions of an open compartment are 322 mm in height, 482 mm in width, and 489 mm in depth (538 mm without the back panel). A compartment with a door offers 473 mm in depth (522 mm without the back panel).
This flexibility makes it easy to tailor the unit precisely to the equipment it will house: amplifiers, turntables, network players, game consoles, or simple storage for records and CDs. The ability to mix open compartments, closed compartments, and drawers within the same unit provides a custom response to everyone’s needs without requiring special manufacturing.
A cable management system designed down to the last detail
The Model 232 natively integrates a particularly sophisticated cable management system. The top panel includes a central cable pass-through, complemented by three holes at the bottom of the cabinet. For those who prefer an uninterrupted top surface, the model can be ordered without an opening in the top panel.
The magnetic back panels are the centerpiece of this system. Positioned 5 cm from the rear edge of the cabinet, they can be removed instantly to access connections and then replaced to conceal the cable clutter. These panels can be ordered with dedicated cable pass-through holes or completely solid if the installation does not require drilling.
Aluminum or brass cable grommets complete the setup. Five different models are available in silver, black, or brass, each engraved with a discreet Clic logo. These accessories turn cable pass-throughs into refined finishing details, whereas most cabinets settle for simple visible holes.
Finishes that suit any interior
The Model 232 is available in multiple finish options, allowing for seamless integration into a wide variety of environments. Paint finishes are available in five shades: white, black, gray, and light gray. For those who prefer wood, two veneers are offered: oak and walnut. These veneers cover the entire cabinet, ensuring total aesthetic consistency.
The acoustically transparent fabric doors are among Clic’s most popular innovations. Ten colors are available: Coal, Frost, Coffee, Black, Dark Blue, Concrete, Latte, Basalt Grey, White, and Olive Green. These fabrics allow infrared remote controls to function normally and let sound pass through without perceptible alteration, offering the best of both worlds: concealed equipment that remains fully operational.
This broad palette of finishes is not only about aesthetics. It allows you to visually match the cabinet to your speakers, the room’s other furniture, or create deliberate contrast according to your chosen decorative approach. The polyurethane paint quality ensures resistance to wear and color stability over time.
Three installation options to suit every setup
The Model 232 can be installed in three distinct ways, depending on spatial constraints and aesthetic preferences. The first option is to place the cabinet directly on the floor on aluminum feet. These feet, machined from a single piece of aluminum, include adjustable leveling screws to compensate for floor irregularities and ensure a perfectly horizontal stance. They come in silver or black finishes.
Wall mounting is the second option. The Clic wall bracket allows you to hang the cabinet at the desired height. This system stands out for its precise adjustments: you can level the cabinet and secure it firmly against the wall. This solution frees up floor space and creates a sense of visual lightness particularly well suited to contemporary interiors.
Finally, the cabinet can be fitted with casters, in black or white. This mobile configuration makes it easier to clean behind the unit, to rearrange the space easily for gatherings, or simply to adapt the room layout as you wish. The casters can easily support the total weight of the fully loaded cabinet.
One technical detail worth noting: all Clic cabinets incorporate concealed metal pieces in the corners of the top panel. These inserts allow you to stack multiple cabinets using specially designed magnetic feet, opening the door to custom vertical compositions.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can the compartment configuration be modified after purchase?
Yes, the Model 232’s modular design allows the configuration to evolve over time. Doors, drawers, and shelves can be added or removed as needed. Additional elements can be ordered directly from a Clic retailer. This flexibility avoids the need to change furniture when your audio-video setup evolves.
Do the fabric doors really let sound and remote signals pass through?
The fabrics used for Clic doors are acoustically transparent, meaning they do not perceptibly affect sound dispersion. Infrared signals from remote controls also pass through the fabric without issue. This feature lets you completely conceal equipment while maintaining full functionality and intact sound quality.
What is the maximum load the cabinet’s top surface can support?
Although Clic does not disclose a precise maximum load, the construction technique used ensures sufficient strength to accommodate heavy equipment such as power amplifiers, high-end turntables, or reasonably sized televisions. The presence of integrated metal reinforcements in the top corners attests to the robustness of the structure. If in doubt about particularly heavy equipment, it is recommended to consult a retailer.
Are the wood veneer finishes real wood?
Yes, the oak and walnut options use genuine natural wood veneers applied to the cabinet’s MDF structure. These are not printed imitations but authentic wood, with the grain variations characteristic of each species. This authenticity explains why each cabinet has a unique appearance, as the wood patterns are never perfectly identical from one piece to another.
