Clic Classic Series Model 1541
Overview
Clic’s Classic Series Model 1541 answers a simple question: how can you elegantly showcase an audio-video system without cables, devices, or accessories disrupting a room’s harmony? This 202 cm-wide Danish cabinet, made up of four modular compartments, stands out for its artisanal craftsmanship in Hornslet and its ability to conceal technical clutter while preserving sound quality. With removable magnetic back plates, multiple finish options, and a structure designed to evolve over time, the Model 1541 follows a Scandinavian tradition that prioritizes function without sacrificing aesthetics.
Four compartments designed for modularity
The Model 1541 measures 260 mm in height, 2020 mm in width, and 455 mm in depth. It consists of four identical compartments, each internally measuring 216 mm in height, 482 mm in width, and 394 mm in depth when open. This configuration accommodates standard audio-video equipment, game consoles, network players, and amplifiers.
Each compartment can be customized independently. You can leave it open, equip it with an acoustically transparent fabric door, or a wooden door matching the cabinet’s overall finish. This flexibility allows you to visually tailor what you want to showcase or hide. A well-designed amplifier can remain visible, while a cable decoder or console can be concealed behind a door. Note that the Model 1541 cannot be fitted with drawers, unlike some other models in the range.
The structure relies on a particular technique to achieve a stable frame without a fixed back panel. This design offers a double advantage: it simplifies access to device connections and improves airflow—important for the longevity of electronics that generate heat. The cabinet can support a high load, whether set on the floor with aluminum feet or wall-mounted with the dedicated bracket.
Each compartment includes an additional 16 mm-thick shelf adjustable to three different positions. This vertical modularity lets you adapt the available height to your equipment—a slim Blu-ray player fits on the lower section, while a larger amplifier can use the full height.
Cable management: invisible yet accessible
Cable routing is often the weak point of A/V furniture. Clic addresses this with a thoughtful system: a centered cable pass-through runs through the top panel, allowing HDMI, power, or network cables to drop down from a TV placed on the cabinet. At the bottom, three openings facilitate routing to wall outlets or to another cabinet if the setup is modular and stackable.
The back plates play a central role in this setup. Made for each compartment, they sit 5 cm from the rear of the cabinet and are held in place by magnets. You can remove them in seconds to access connections, change a device’s wiring, or add new equipment. With the plate removed, usable depth increases from 394 mm to 443 mm for an open compartment, or from 378 mm to 427 mm for a compartment with a door.
These plates also include openings for cable routing but can be ordered without perforations if the installation calls for it. There’s also the option to order the cabinet without the top-panel cable pass-through, for example if you plan to wall-mount the TV rather than place it on the cabinet.
To perfect visual integration, Clic offers aluminum or brass cable covers in three finishes: silver, black, or brass. These plates cover the top-panel openings and feature a discreetly engraved Clic logo. Some models are semi-open, others fully closed, and a specific version exists to accommodate a TV stand. A final variant adopts a gutter shape to bundle multiple cables.
Finishes and customization: wood, paint, and fabric
The Model 1541 comes in several finishes that radically transform its appearance. Painted versions use a water-based polyurethane paint, applied by hand after the cabinet is assembled. This process ensures crisp edges and a perfectly sealed surface at the joints. Four shades are available: white, black, grey, and light grey. This paint stands out for its durability and long-lasting resistance.
Veneered versions offer two species: oak or walnut. Wood veneer brings natural warmth and aligns with the Scandinavian furniture tradition where raw material plays a central aesthetic role. These finishes pair easily with other wooden furniture in the room.
Fabric doors are the other major personalization element. Clic offers sixteen colors split into two ranges. The Mélange series—Coal, Concrete, Frost, Coffee, and Latte—features a textile structure that gives the cabinet a more rugged, contemporary look. The Basic series offers eleven shades: powder blue, grey, dark blue, olive green, brown, beige, white, silver, black, burgundy, and red. This fabric has a special property: it lets infrared signals from remote controls pass through, allowing you to operate devices without opening the door. Sound also passes through the fabric without notable alteration, preserving the acoustic quality of the system.
The doors open downward on integrated hinges. This design avoids lateral obstruction and makes it easy to access devices, notably to insert a disc in a player or adjust a setting on an amplifier.
Feet, mounts, and upgrade possibilities
The Model 1541 can be installed in several ways depending on your room’s layout. On the floor, it sits on aluminum feet machined from a single piece. Each foot includes an adjustment screw to fine-tune height and compensate for floor irregularities. A single set of four feet is sufficient for the cabinet. These feet come in two finishes: silver and black. Three heights are available: 3 cm for a discreet floating effect, 19 cm for a more assertive presence and improved airflow beneath the cabinet, or 19 cm frame-feet that form a peripheral structure. A caster option is also available to easily move the cabinet for cleaning or rearranging.
Wall mounting is done with a specific bracket developed by Clic. This adjustable system lets you level the cabinet and sit it perfectly flush against the wall. Installation requires a professional to ensure safety, given the weight of a fully loaded cabinet.
One of Clic’s strengths lies in its capacity to evolve. All models can be stacked using magnetic feet designed for this purpose. You can start with a floor-standing Model 1541, then later add a second module on top to accommodate new equipment or create a more imposing setup. This vertical modularity lets you adapt the furniture as your A/V system evolves without having to buy an entirely new unit.
Clic cabinets can also be placed side by side to form wider configurations. A vinyl enthusiast can pair a Model 1541 with a module equipped with a “vinyl hole,” a specific cutout in the top panel that lets you store records upright and flip through them easily next to the turntable.
Compatibility and system integration
The Model 1541 is suitable for placing a TV on the top panel, provided the size and weight of the set are appropriate. The dimensions accommodate screens up to 65 inches depending on TV models. The compartments can accommodate soundbars placed in front of the cabinet or on the sides, but this model does not allow a soundbar to be integrated inside—only the S versions in the range offer this with a specifically reduced internal height.
For pure audio systems, the Model 1541 can house an amplifier, preamplifier, CD player, network player, DAC, and other sources on the shelves. The 394 mm depth suits the majority of hi-fi equipment on the market. Deeper devices will require removing the back plate, increasing usable depth to 443 mm.
Clic has developed a partnership with Lyngdorf Audio to create specific modules that can house the BW-2 subwoofer. The subwoofer is placed facing downward, radiating sound through a circular opening in the base of the module. This solution allows the subwoofer to be completely concealed while preserving its performance. Clic recommends not placing a turntable on a module containing a subwoofer to avoid parasitic vibrations.
The cabinet can also integrate gaming equipment (consoles, controllers) or media players. Natural ventilation ensured by the absence of a fixed back panel helps limit overheating issues, although an active ventilation option exists for particularly loaded setups.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Model 1541 support all types of TVs?
The top panel can accommodate most TVs up to 65 inches, depending on weight and the stand’s footprint. TVs with widely spaced feet require checking that the spacing matches the cabinet’s width. For larger or heavier screens, wall-mounting the TV above the cabinet is a safer alternative.
Do fabric doors block remote control signals?
No, the fabric used lets infrared signals pass through without significant attenuation. You can control equipment without opening the doors. This signal transparency comes with acoustic transparency: sound passes through the fabric with minimal alteration, allowing you to close compartments containing compact speakers or a home cinema center channel.
How do you stack multiple Clic modules?
Stacking is done with specially designed magnetic feet. These feet attach between two modules and hold the assembly securely. Total height depends on the number of stacked modules and the chosen foot height. Clic recommends not exceeding three levels without wall mounting to ensure stability.
Is the cabinet suitable for an integrated soundbar?
The Model 1541 does not allow a soundbar to be integrated inside the compartments. The 216 mm internal height can accommodate some very compact models, but Clic offers S (slim) versions specifically sized for this function. The soundbar can, however, be placed in front of the cabinet or wall-mounted above it.
Can additional shelves be ordered later?
Yes, additional 16 mm-thick shelves can be ordered separately after purchasing the cabinet. They fit into three predefined heights in each compartment. This option lets you adjust the configuration over time as you add or replace equipment.
