Clic Classic Series Model 231
Overview
The Clic Classic Series Model 231 is presented as a high-end, modular A/V cabinet, fully handcrafted in Denmark. With its three configurable compartments and smart cable management system, this 152 cm wide model offers a practical solution for organizing your hi-fi setup while maintaining a clean, refined look. Its structure without a fixed back panel and its removable magnetic plates make it easy to route cables between devices, while customizable finishes let it blend into different interiors.
A modular system designed to evolve with your setup
The Model 231 is built on an architecture of three identical compartments, each of which can accommodate a different configuration according to your current needs. You can leave one compartment open for devices that require optimal ventilation, fit the next with a wooden door to conceal certain components, then install two drawers in the third to store remotes, cables, and accessories.
The structure stands out thanks to the absence of a fixed back panel, replaced by magnetic plates positioned 5 cm from the rear of each compartment. These plates create a dedicated space for cable routing while maintaining overall rigidity. They can be removed without tools for quick access to connections, then put back in place thanks to their magnets to restore a tidy appearance.
The integrated shelves can be adjusted to three different heights, with a thickness of 16 mm to ensure good stability. Additional shelves can be ordered separately if you wish to add more storage levels.
Cable management: discreet and functional
Two strategic cable pass-throughs equip this model: a first hole centered on the top panel allows cables to drop down from a wall-mounted screen, and a second at the base of the cabinet facilitates exit to wall outlets. For those who prefer a top panel without an opening, a version without a hole is available.
The removable back plates also include a cable pass-through, which simplifies connections between devices placed in adjacent compartments. The 5 cm space between the plates and the back of the cabinet provides enough room to bundle several power and signal cables without putting strain on the connectors.
Aluminum or brass cable cover plates, available in silver, black, or brass, complete the offering to conceal openings when viewed from the side.
Dimensions and installation
At 152.2 cm wide, 45.5 cm deep, and 36.6 cm high, the Model 231 fits under most television screens. Each compartment offers an internal width of 48.2 cm and a height of 32.2 cm, sufficient for amplifiers and Blu-ray players, but limited for some tube amplifiers.
Internal depth varies depending on configuration: 39.4 cm in an open compartment, 44.3 cm without a back plate, and 37.8 cm with a door installed. This difference may matter if you plan to install an especially deep amplifier.
The structure supports substantial loads, whether you place the cabinet on the floor, elevate it with Clic Alu Stands machined from aluminum, or mount it on the wall with the dedicated wall bracket. The latter option frees up floor space and simplifies cleaning while giving a lighter visual impression.
Finishes and Danish craftsmanship
Clic offers the Model 231 in four painted finishes—white, black, grey, and light grey—and two wood veneers: oak and walnut. Each cabinet is hand-painted after assembly, with a water-based paint that provides good scratch resistance. This artisanal approach yields a result different from industrial paint, with a slightly less uniform texture but more character.
Fabric doors are available in ten colors and allow infrared remotes to function through the closed door. Wooden doors follow the same finishes as the cabinet body to create a coherent ensemble.
Clic designs and manufactures all of its furniture in Denmark, prioritizing local materials and Danish subcontractors. Each Model 231 is assembled by hand, then undergoes quality control before shipment. The brand has built a reputation in the high-end hi-fi world by combining Scandinavian aesthetics with functionality tailored to A/V installations.
Compatibility and limitations
The Model 231 accommodates most standard-sized hi-fi and home cinema components, but Clic specifies that it is not suitable for integrating a soundbar inside. Soundbars require precise positioning relative to the screen, and enclosing them in a compartment would alter their acoustic signature.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can the compartment configuration be modified after purchase?
Yes, the modular structure allows you to change the arrangement of doors, drawers, and shelves at any time. The magnetic back plates can be removed without tools, making it easy to access and reorganize the interior as your setup evolves.
Do the fabric doors block infrared remote signals?
No, the fabrics used by Clic let infrared signals pass through. You can therefore control your devices while the doors are closed, without having to open them each time.
What is the maximum load capacity for each compartment?
Clic does not provide a precise figure, but the structure is designed to accommodate heavy amplifiers and network players. The 16 mm-thick shelves and the absence of a fixed back panel help distribute loads across the entire structure.
Can multiple Model 231 units be placed side by side?
Yes, the removable back plates and cable pass-throughs allow connections to run from one cabinet to another. This setup makes it easy to build an extended A/V installation while maintaining a unified visual appearance.
