Unnu Classic Series Model 1541

The Model 1541 belongs to Unnu’s Classic Series, a line of audio-video furniture designed to meet the demands of hi-fi and home theater installations. With its four modular compartments and 45 cm depth, this unit offers a storage solution designed to conceal equipment while preserving sound quality and the aesthetics of the living space.

Construction and design: uncompromising solidity

The Model 1541 stands out for its robust construction. Each compartment is reinforced with four specially designed metal brackets, positioned at the rear of the unit. These reinforcements allow the 16 mm MDF structure to support heavy equipment without deformation, whether placed on feet on the floor or mounted on the wall.

The unit measures 206.8 cm wide, 24.8 cm high, and 45 cm deep. Each of the four internal compartments offers a usable space of 48.2 cm wide, 21.6 cm high, and 37.8 cm deep. This 45 cm depth, a hallmark of the Classic Series, accommodates amplifiers, players, and other audio components of standard dimensions.

The distinctive feature of the Model 1541 lies in its reversibility. You can choose to place the cable openings on the top or bottom panel, depending on your installation layout. One or three holes can be provided, offering flexibility for routing cables between units or to power sources.

Modularity: adapt each compartment to your needs

Each compartment of the Model 1541 can be configured in three different ways: remain open to showcase equipment, receive a fabric door that lets sound and infrared remote signals pass through, or receive a wooden door to completely conceal the contents. It is also possible to replace a compartment with two drawers, although this option is not compatible with all Unnu models.

Fabric doors are one of Unnu’s functional signatures. Available in nine colors across two series (Melange: coal, concrete, frost, coffee, latte; Basic: white, silver, black, grey), they allow you to control devices without opening the unit. This solution meets the constraints of modern systems while preserving the furniture’s clean aesthetic.

Wooden doors, available in white or black paint finishes, or in oak and walnut veneers, provide full closure for compartments where you wish to completely hide the contents.

Cable management: discretion and accessibility

The Model 1541 includes several solutions for cable management. Each compartment features a removable rear panel attached by magnets, positioned 5 cm from the back of the unit. This 5 cm space allows power and signal cables to run without stressing the connections.

The rear panels can be easily removed thanks to their magnetic mounting, making installation changes simple. Without these panels, the internal depth increases from 37.8 cm to 43 cm, providing full access to the back of the devices.

Aluminum cable cover plates, available in silver or black finishes with the Unnu logo engraved, can be added to route cables neatly out of the unit. Five types of plates are available, compatible with all Unnu models.

Adjustable shelves and customization

The Model 1541 includes one shelf per compartment, adjustable to three different positions. This modularity allows you to adapt the shelf height to the dimensions of your equipment. Additional shelves can be ordered separately to further subdivide the space.

The adjustable feet, machined from a block of aluminum, allow you to compensate for floor irregularities and position the unit at the desired height. These feet are available in silver or black finishes. For wall mounting, Unnu offers specific wall brackets that allow level adjustment and secure the unit flush to the wall.

The unit is available in four finishes: white paint, black paint, oak veneer, and walnut veneer. The polyurethane paint used provides scratch resistance and long-term color stability.

Danish manufacturing: quality and traceability

All Unnu furniture is manufactured and assembled in Denmark by Hammel Furniture. This local production ensures quality control at every stage and reduces the carbon footprint associated with transport. Hammel Furniture, founded in 1961, operates two production sites, one in Hammel in Central Jutland and the other in Skærbæk in Southern Jutland, employing over 75 people in total.

The choice of painted MDF rather than solid wood or plywood is a compromise between strength, dimensional stability, and accessibility. The metal brackets compensate for MDF’s lower structural resistance and allow a load capacity comparable to solid wood furniture, at a lower weight.
