The base, shaped from 100% recycled and recyclable polymer with no added resin, features a black shade punctuated by translucent fragments: each panel displays a unique mineral look. The whole weighs 1.1 kg, enough to ensure stable placement on a desk or studio console.

Made in Burgundy, heir to regional craftsmanship

Assembly is entrusted to the Focal Ébénisterie Bourgogne workshop, located in Bourbon-Lancy in Saône-et-Loire. This site has continued a cabinetmaking activity linked to acoustics since 1945, when a local craftsman, Émile Guy, was already making speaker enclosures there. Focal took over the workshop in 2007 and now produces the high-end Utopia and Sopra speakers there. The headphone stand benefits from this proximity: it comes out of the same premises as the brand’s flagship speakers, with identical quality control.

The workshop covers 4,000 m² on a single level, a logistical choice that facilitates the movement of parts and reduces handling. Focal holds the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant label and has been a member of the Comité Colbert since 2024, two distinctions that recognize the mastery of rare industrial expertise in France.

Structure and ergonomics designed to protect the headphones

The shape of the stand is more than just a nod to the logo: it meets a technical requirement. The steel arch, 3 mm thick and 60 mm wide, follows the curve of a headband without applying lateral pressure to the earcups. Headphones placed on this stand keep their earpads suspended, away from any surface that could crush or deform them.

The 280 mm height suits most over-ear models, including those with bulky headbands. The base, only 15 mm high, takes up little space on a desk while offering a 130 mm-wide footprint, generous enough to prevent tipping even with heavy headphones.

A recycled material with a distinctive finish

Focal has chosen a polymer sourced 100% from the recycling stream, processed without added resin. This choice reduces dependence on virgin raw materials and simplifies end-of-life recycling, since the material remains single-material. The resulting black shade incorporates translucent flecks, visible remnants of the reclaimed fragments. The result evokes polished stone or dark granite, with surface variations unique to each piece.

The packaging follows the same logic: 100% cardboard, with no plastic inserts or polystyrene shells.

Compatibility and use cases

The stand accommodates all audio headphones, whether hi-fi, studio, or portable. The width of the arch suits narrow-headband models as well as more imposing references. For home use, it finds its place near a headphone amplifier or a turntable. In the studio, it allows a monitoring headphone to be stored between sessions without cluttering the work surface.

The Focal logo, debossed on the base, remains discreet: it only stands out under grazing light. This understated finish blends smoothly into a technical environment where black equipment dominates.
