Integra 4500DSP
Overview
Presented at CEDIA 2025, the 4500DSP class D amplifier joins Integra’s new Professional Amplifier series, developed in consultation with professional integrators. On the agenda: powering both high-end residential installations and large-scale commercial projects, from a multi-room restaurant to a building lobby, with a power reserve that covers both 4 ohms and 70/100 V line.
Four channels, multiple operating modes
The 4500DSP delivers 4 x 500 W into 4 ohms or 4 x 250 W into 8 ohms in standard operation. When a project calls for more power per speaker, BTL (Bridge-Tied Load) mode groups channels in pairs to provide 2 x 1000 W into 4 or 8 ohms, as well as on 70 or 100 V line. This flexibility comes from hybrid low-impedance / high-impedance distribution, which allows a mix of Lo-Z and Hi-Z speakers in the same installation, without resorting to multiple specialized amplifiers.
Integrated DSP and Klipsch presets
The onboard digital processing handles the usual functions of an installation amplifier: equalization, limiters, compressors, and zone management. Integra and Klipsch have co-developed presets dedicated to Klipsch CI speakers, which automatically load the manufacturer-recommended parameters for each model. With speakers outside the Klipsch catalog, settings remain fully manual via the configuration interface.
Audio connectivity and digital conversion
On the input side, the amplifier accepts up to four analog sources on unbalanced RCA with auto-detection, plus one coaxial digital input (also auto-detected) processed by a 24-bit / 48 kHz DAC. On the output side, there are Phoenix terminals for the speakers and a coaxial digital output for daisy-chaining to another unit. The dual auto-detection simplifies switching from one source to another without intervention on the front panel.
Network setup and control
The 4500DSP is configured via an online graphical interface, accessible from any browser on the local network. Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz) and the Ethernet port offer a choice between wireless or wired integration. On the end-user side, the ZC1 zone controller (sold separately) takes the form of a wall panel for controlling sources, volume, and zones, with a four-digit code restricting access to sensitive settings.
Compatibility with integration ecosystems
Integra provides drivers for the main platforms on the integration market: Q-SYS, Control4, Crestron, RTI, AMX, Symetrix, URC, and Elan. The 4500DSP therefore integrates directly into projects built around these ecosystems, without specific development. Files and documentation are made available by the manufacturer to facilitate deployment.
Rack format and cooling
The chassis is 2U high (88 x 440 x 320 mm) and weighs 7.3 kg, with a rack-mount kit included. Ventilation follows a classic integration layout: air intake at the front, exhaust at the rear, which simplifies arrangement in a populated rack where the amplifier sits alongside other thermally active equipment. The rear panel uses a white background with black text, more readable than a standard black panel when lighting is limited.
Suitable project types
The 4500DSP covers several project profiles. In high-end residential applications, it powers multi-zone systems with a few rooms running at 4 or 8 ohms (living room, kitchen, terrace). In commercial applications, the 70/100 V line output becomes useful for long runs of ceiling speakers in a restaurant, hotel, or open-plan office, where high impedance limits cable losses. BTL mode opens up additional options for distribution points demanding high SPL, such as a bar or reception hall. The manufacturer’s warranty is five years.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the 4500DSP and the 4125DSP?
The two models share the same foundation (class D, integrated DSP, Klipsch presets, network control), but the power changes radically. The 4125DSP tops out at 4 x 125 W and fits in a 1U half-rack, whereas the 4500DSP delivers 4 x 500 W into 4 ohms and uses a full-width 2U format. The choice essentially depends on the required power per channel and the length of the speaker lines.
Does the 4500DSP require a professional installer for setup?
Configuration is done through Integra’s Intuitive Control SW software and an online graphical interface, two tools aimed at integrators. Independent setup remains possible with solid knowledge of professional audio and networking, but the product is primarily intended for certified integrators.
Can a TOSLINK or USB digital source be connected?
No. On the digital side, the input is coaxial only (coaxial S/PDIF). Optical sources require a TOSLINK-to-coaxial converter, and USB is not supported as an audio input. The internal DAC remains limited to 24-bit / 48 kHz, which covers multi-zone distribution needs but excludes high-resolution streams beyond that.
Do the Klipsch presets work with other speaker brands?
No. The presets are calibrated specifically for Klipsch CI models based on data provided by Klipsch engineers. With a speaker from another brand, equalization, limiters, and compressors must be adjusted manually in the DSP via the configuration interface.
