Overview

Reduce reverberation without turning a wall into a collage of visible foam: that is the aim of this square panel measuring 132 centimeters on each side. Artnovion combines an aluminum frame with an angled profile, a recycled PET core, and a fabric face to treat sound reflections while remaining discreet. Wall or ceiling mounting, modular finishes according to fire rating: the acoustic treatment blends into the interior design.

Artnovion Luxor Quad: the large-format acoustic absorber

Reduce reverberation without turning a wall into a collage of visible foam: that is the aim of this square panel measuring 132 centimeters on each side. Artnovion combines an aluminum frame with an angled profile, a recycled PET core, and a fabric face to treat sound reflections while remaining discreet. Wall or ceiling mounting, modular finishes according to fire rating: the acoustic treatment blends into the interior design.

An aluminum frame that structures the panel

The core of the design lies in the aluminum frame, whose profile slopes at 45 degrees. This slope remains invisible once the panel is covered, with the fabric concealing the structure to create a smooth, uniform surface. Behind the textile face, the absorbent recycled PET core (Artnovion’s Sound PET, rated Euroclass B) does the acoustic work.

Choosing aluminum rather than a wooden frame brings several concrete benefits. Installation is simplified, the structure withstands variations in temperature and humidity without warping, and it allows large formats without acoustic performance weakening across the surface. The Luxor Quad, at 132 × 132 × 6 cm, illustrates this large one-piece panel approach.

Absorption focused on mid and high frequencies

The panel acts between 315 Hz and 5000 Hz, a range that covers most spoken voice frequencies and the frequencies responsible for echo and sound tail in a room. The weighted absorption coefficient (αw) reaches 0.8 on a scale from 0 to 1, which places the product in class B, the second level of a European scale that includes five, from A to E.

In practice, the Luxor Quad reduces reverberation time, controls flutter echo (those repeated reflections between two parallel surfaces), and improves speech intelligibility. One limitation to keep in mind: its action starts at 315 Hz, so it does not treat low frequencies. For a room’s bass modes, a dedicated bass absorber is still needed as a complement.

Three textile finishes according to fire rating

The Luxor Quad is available in three coverings, each linked to a level of fire resistance. The Suede finish corresponds to the Furniture Grade rating. The Felted finish meets the Fire Rated classification. The Twill finish combines the Fire Rated classification and compatibility with Covid-19 disinfection. All three share the same aluminum frame and the same Sound PET core.

In terms of appearance, the frame comes in aluminum, black, or white, giving some flexibility to match the panel with the rest of the room or play with contrast.

Hygiene and disinfection for sensitive spaces

It is the Twill finish that opens up use in medical environments and in spaces where cleaning must be frequent. The fabric supports regular maintenance with antibacterial and antiviral agents: alcohol-based solutions, bleach-based solutions, sterilizing sprays, and wipes. This MEDLINE-Cleanable range was developed by Artnovion for contexts where infection control matters as much as acoustics.

The need is not theoretical. Noise in healthcare facilities is a documented issue, with sound levels that affect the comfort, privacy, and stress of patients as well as staff. Waiting rooms, reception areas, hospital corridors, consultation offices, medical rooms, or care units: these are the places where this panel finds its place. Compatibility with disinfection remains limited to the Twill finish; the Suede and Felted versions do not cover this use.

Wall or ceiling mounting, and the rest of the range

The Quad format features an integrated mounting system, which reduces the number of parts to handle during installation, on the wall as well as on the ceiling. For longer surfaces, the Luxor range offers two other rectangular formats: the Luxor Line in 132 × 178.5 × 6 cm and the Luxor Grand in 132 × 240 × 6 cm. The 6-centimeter thickness remains constant across all three, making it easier to compose treated walls with multiple formats.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Luxor Quad absorb low frequencies?

No. Its action starts at 315 Hz and goes up to 5000 Hz, which corresponds to the midrange and high frequencies. A room’s low frequencies, particularly the modes related to wall dimensions, require an absorber designed for low frequencies, to be used as a complement.

Which finish should you choose for a medical office or a hospital?

The Twill finish is the only one that combines a fire rating with compatibility for regular disinfection. It is also the only one that withstands alcohol-based solutions, bleach, and sterilizing wipes. The Suede and Felted finishes are suitable for spaces where this cleaning requirement does not apply.

Is the aluminum frame visible once the panel is installed?

No. The 45-degree angled profile remains concealed beneath the fabric, which covers the entire surface for a uniform finish. Only the fabric-facing side is visible, in the chosen color.

What is the absorbent part made of?

The acoustic core is made of recycled PET, Artnovion’s Sound PET material, classified Euroclass B. Recycled PET is a material derived from recycled plastic, used here for its absorption properties.

Can this panel be installed on the ceiling?

Yes. The Luxor Quad is designed for wall mounting and ceiling mounting. Its integrated mounting system is used in both configurations.

What is the difference between the Quad, the Line, and the Grand?

The format. The Quad is square (132 × 132 cm), the Line and the Grand are rectangular (132 × 178.5 cm and 132 × 240 cm). All three retain a thickness of 6 cm and the same design, which makes it possible to combine them on the same wall.

What does acoustic class B mean?

It indicates the panel’s absorption level on a European scale ranging from A (the most absorbent) to E. Class B, associated here with an αw coefficient of 0.8, corresponds to high absorption over the treated frequency range.
