The Oray Micro Pantographe 20 meets these requirements. This motorized scissor mount can accommodate a projector of up to 20 kg, offers a one-meter drop travel, and adapts to the thickness of the suspended ceiling thanks to its adjustment options. Its compact form factor makes it a particularly suitable solution for installations where the available space above the hatch is limited.
The motorized ceiling pantograph
The principle works like scissors. Two sets of crossed arms extend vertically to lower the projector, then fold back to raise it flush with the ceiling. A single-phase 220 V motor drives the whole assembly, and two limit switches define the upper and lower positions — in other words, the two stops between which the mount travels. The travel reaches 1 m, which covers most ceiling heights in both residential and meeting room settings.
These two reference points are sufficient for everyday use. They do not provide an intermediate maintenance position, unlike the longer-travel pantographs in the range, which feature multiple adjustable stops. Over a one-meter drop, this level of adjustment remains secondary.
Open profile or closed profile
At installation, two mounting configurations are available. In open profile, the projector remains visible below the lower plate and the mechanism extends in the open air: the simplest solution when ceiling aesthetics are not a priority. In closed profile, the projector is housed between the upper plate and the lower plate, then disappears into the suspended ceiling once raised. Only the hatch remains visible, making it suitable for exhibition rooms, reception areas, or a refined home theater setup.
The height adjustment of the plates aligns the mount to the actual thickness of the technical ceiling — an important point when the void above varies by a few centimeters from one installation to another. In terms of dimensions, the upper plate measures 46.7 by 35.7 cm and the lower plate 38.2 by 35.8 cm: measurements to note when designing the recessed hatch.
20 kg load capacity and descent safety
The mount accepts 20 kg, which leaves a comfortable margin for the majority of living room projectors and the heaviest home theater models. Three safety straps connect the fixed section to the moving section and retain the unit in the event of a mechanism failure — a useful safeguard for a load suspended above people.
The Micro Pantographe 20 weighs 10 kg net, 12 kg with packaging. This weight is added to that of the projector when calculating the fixing requirements: the ceiling’s load-bearing structure must support the entire assembly without play or deflection.
Switch, remote control, and frame as options
The Micro Pantographe 20 is supplied without a control device. At least one control method must therefore be added, and Oray offers three depending on the installation. The wired switch (reference 1MOT01001) operates the up and down movement from a fixed point on the wall. The radio remote control (reference OPTCOMMANDRAD8) provides the same function without any cabling to the mount. The recessed frame (reference SVP09OPT01) neatly closes the hatch in the suspended ceiling.
This breakdown into options sets the Micro apart from the longer-travel pantographs in the range, which are generally supplied with their radio control. When purchasing, it is therefore advisable to plan the chosen control method from the outset.

Does the mount tilt the projector?
No. The pantograph only handles vertical movement, with a precise return to the same position on each cycle. Alignment of the optical axis and keystone correction are adjusted on the projector itself or via an orientation plate added between the device and the lower plate.
What power supply should be provided at the ceiling?
A 220 V single-phase mains supply at the mount location. The control unit, whether wired or wireless, is connected according to the chosen option. Planning this power point in advance avoids having to reopen the false ceiling once the installation is complete.
Can the descent stop before one meter?
Yes. The low position is set at the time of installation using the lower limit switch, within the available one-metre travel range. The mount then stops at the defined height each time, without any drift.
What is the difference with the Oray Mini-Pantographe 20?
Despite their similar names, these are two distinct products. The Micro Pantographe 20 descends 1 m, supports 20 kg, and is controlled via an optional accessory. The Mini-Pantographe 20 goes further in travel (up to 195 cm depending on the version), handles up to 25 kg, and comes with its radio remote control as standard. The Micro remains the compact choice for short drops and shallow suspended ceilings.
Can the remote control be added after installation?
Yes. The wired switch, the radio remote control, and the recessed frame are ordered separately by their reference numbers, before or after installing the bracket. Switching from wired control to radio control remains possible as long as the motor’s power supply is in place.
