Power Acoustics Flight screen 65 MK2
Overview
A 65-inch television does not travel well. Its panel is very thin, its surface is large and its corners are fragile. This flight case encloses it in a multi-ply plywood case, with aluminium-protected edges, foam padding and a wheeled base. The screen travels upright, while its stand and cables have their own space in a separate compartment. It is suitable for trade shows, equipment rental, event services and moving house.
Multi-ply plywood, aluminium corner profiles and ball corners
The case is made of multi-ply plywood. This panel consists of thin layers of wood glued together with alternating grain directions. It therefore stays rigid in all directions and holds screws and rivets securely, whereas chipboard would split at the first impact on a corner. Aluminium corner profiles line every edge, with corner reinforcements at the joints. Each corner has a rounded metal fitting called a “ball corner”. It absorbs impacts against a door frame or a truck sideboard, and helps secure and stack cases when several share the same vehicle.
Four butterfly latches lock the lid. Their levers are turned to close them, then folded flat into recessed dishes. Nothing protrudes from the case to snag a strap or an adjacent package. The finish combines a black covering with silver profiles and metal fittings. This is the standard look for stage equipment, remaining unobtrusive backstage and in storage.
A 65-inch screen held upright in foam
The cavity accommodates a screen measuring up to 1685 mm long, 875 mm high and 100 mm thick. A 65-inch 16:9 panel measures approximately 144 cm wide and 81 cm high, excluding the frame. A television of this size therefore fits with a few centimetres of clearance in height, which the padding fills. Thickness is the dimension to check before buying. The 100 mm applies to a television without its stand, measured at its deepest point, usually the rear housing containing the electronics.
Upright transport is not a minor detail. When laid flat, a large panel flexes under its own weight, and its internal components then absorb every jolt from the road. The case measures 944 mm high by 250 mm deep, keeping the television vertical throughout the journey. Compact foam blocks immobilise the frame and dampen vibrations. Dense foam compresses less over time than soft foam, and the padding stays firm after repeated loading.
The stand, remote control and cables kept separate
Lengthwise, the cavity is considerably longer than the width of a 65-inch television. The remaining space forms a compartment closed off by a removable wooden board. It holds the detached stand, HDMI cables and power cables, the remote control or a wall mount, without any of these objects touching the panel during the journey. Removing the board makes the full internal length available for the screen again.
Sixty kilos on castors: everyday handling
Protection comes at a cost in weight. Empty, the flight case already weighs 60 kg, with the television adding to that. The base fitted with four integrated castors solves the problem on level ground: a venue corridor, loading dock or access ramp. At 25 cm deep, the case fits through a standard door when rolled lengthwise, without any special manoeuvring.
For steps, tail lifts or loading into a van, twelve recessed metal handles are distributed around the case. They do not protrude or snag anything, and always leave a grip within reach, whether two or four people are lifting. For more than a few steps, the total weight requires at least two people.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can an OLED TV be transported in this flight case?
Yes, as long as its dimensions without the stand fit within the 1685 × 875 × 100 mm cavity. An OLED panel is very thin across most of its surface, and therefore sensitive to bending. Upright transport and foam padding are exactly what it needs.
Should the TV stand be removed before storing it?
Yes. The maximum thickness of 100 mm refers to the TV without its stand, and most stands extend well beyond this dimension. Once removed, the stand can be stored in the compartment separated by the wooden board.
Can a 55- or 75-inch screen be transported in it?
A 75-inch screen will not fit: its panel alone measures approximately 166 cm wide and 93 cm high, exceeding the 875 mm of usable height. A 55-inch screen physically fits, but the padding is sized for a 65-inch screen. Additional padding would be needed to eliminate any movement. Power Acoustics offers its screen flight cases in other sizes, including a model for 50-inch screens and a model for 75- and 85-inch screens.
How can I protect the screen surface during transport?
A non-adhesive protective film or a soft, clean cloth between the panel and the foam prevents scuff marks on anti-reflective coatings. It is best to avoid any adhesive tape on the screen, as the adhesive can leave residue that is difficult to remove.
Can the flight case be transported lying down in a vehicle?
It is best to keep it upright on its wheeled platform and secure it with straps against a wall of the vehicle. This position puts the least stress on the panel. The wheels must be locked or the crate strapped down so that it does not move during braking.
Is there a version for transporting two 65-inch screens?
Yes, Power Acoustics offers a dual-screen 65 flight case, which holds two televisions of this size in a single case. It’s a bulkier solution, but it reduces the number of packages to load for a two-screen event.
