Power Acoustics Flight dual screen 75/85
Overview
Moving two 85-inch televisions from one room to another takes more than an original box and a few blankets. This multi-ply plywood flight case houses two flat screens side by side, separated by a removable wooden divider, with room for their accessories. Mounted on a wheeled base and fitted with eight handles, it serves for transport between events and for storage the rest of the time.
A multi-ply case reinforced with aluminium
The structure is built from multi-ply plywood: thin sheets of wood bonded with alternating grain directions, producing a rigid, impact-resistant case without the weight of an all-metal shell. All edges are protected by aluminium angle profiles, complemented by corner reinforcements. At all eight corners, metal ball corners absorb impacts during handling and provide support for stacking another case on top in a truck or storeroom. The finish combines the black coating of the wood with the silver of the aluminium, the familiar look of stage and event equipment.
Two screens secured in foam, with a divider between them
Inside, each television sits in its own compartment, separated from its neighbour by a removable wooden panel. Dense foam blocks hold the panels in place and absorb transport vibrations, preventing the screens from moving inside the case at every turn.
The 75/85 designation indicates the supported size range. The maximum dimensions per screen are 1912 mm wide, 1165 mm high and 73 mm thick. These measurements apply to a television without its stand or wall mount: the width and height easily accommodate most 85-inch models, while the thickness requires more attention. A thick LED-backlit television, or one whose electronics housing forms a bulge at the back, may exceed 73 mm even if its edges are thin. You therefore need to measure at the screen’s thickest point, not around its edges.
Rolling, lifting, locking: everyday handling
The flight case weighs 85 kg empty, plus the weight of two large televisions. The base with four integrated castors handles most movement on level ground. Two of these castors have brakes, keeping the case stationary in a vehicle during loading or on a slightly sloping surface.
For sections where the castors cannot be used (steps, ramp, tail lift), eight recessed metal handles provide enough grip points for several people to lift the case together. Their recessed mounting prevents them from protruding beyond the case: nothing catches on a door frame, and the cases can be packed edge to edge in a truck. The case is secured by four butterfly latches, rotating catches that fold flat once locked.
With overall dimensions of 2015 × 1255 × 462 mm, the unit remains more compact than two individual cases of the same size. Its 46 cm depth allows it to pass through a standard interior door, but its 1.25 m height warrants checking before booking a van, depending on the usable height of its loading area.

Frequently asked questions
Does a 75-inch TV fit properly in this flight case?
Yes, the 75/85 range covers these sizes. A 75-inch screen is smaller than the maximum dimensions, and the foam spacers fill the remaining space to hold it in place. The same thickness rule applies: a maximum of 73 mm at the thickest point.
Should the TV stand be removed before storing it?
Yes. The maximum dimensions refer to the screen alone. The stand, as well as any wall mount attached to the back, must be removed before packing it in the case. The flight case has space for screen accessories, allowing stands, cables and remote controls to travel with the televisions.
How can I check if a specific screen is compatible?
Simply compare three measurements taken without the stand (width, height, maximum thickness) with the dimensions of 1912 × 1165 × 73 mm. TV manufacturers’ technical specifications generally provide dimensions “without stand”, making comparison easier. Power Acoustics also publishes a compatibility guide listing screen models tested with its flight cases.
What weight should be allowed for when handling?
The case weighs 85 kg when empty. Add the weight of the two televisions, listed without stands in their specifications. On level ground, the castors are sufficient; to negotiate steps or load the case into a vehicle without a tail lift, it is best to have four people positioned at the handles.
What is the removable partition used for?
It separates the two screens so they never touch during transport. Its removable design makes loading easier: you can remove it to place the first television in its compartment, put it back in place, then slide in the second.
Can other flight cases be stacked on top of this one?
The metal ball corners serve as supports for stacking. With two fragile screens inside, it is still wise to place only cases of a reasonable weight on top and to secure them in the vehicle.
Are there other formats in the Power Acoustics range?
Yes. Power Acoustics offers its screen flight cases in single versions, for one 75- to 85-inch television, and in double versions for smaller 50- and 65-inch screen sizes.
