Power Acoustics Flight dual screen 50 MK2
Overview
Two televisions to move from a trade show to a conference room, then bring back without a scratch: that’s the job of this multi-ply plywood flight case. It holds two flat screens up to 50 inches secured in firm foam, keeps a compartment for their accessories, and sits on a platform with four castors. This MK2 version has a more compact design and is considerably lighter than its predecessor, making handling less strenuous.
Two 50-inch screens and their accessories in a single case
Each screen can measure up to 1235 mm wide, 900 mm high and 70 mm thick. A 50-inch television with a 16:9 aspect ratio is approximately 1.11 m wide without its stand, leaving room for foam on either side. Thickness requires more attention: most recent LED and OLED screens come in under 70 mm, but some LCD models have a bulging back where the electronics are housed, and this thickest point is what needs to be measured before purchase.
The firm, dense foam resists compression, holds the panels in place and absorbs vibrations during truck transport. A removable wooden board separates off a compartment for stands, cables, remote controls or wall mounts, which travel with the screens instead of getting lost in a separate box. Since the divider is removable, the interior space can be rearranged to suit the equipment being transported.
Multi-ply plywood, ball corners and aluminium angle profiles
Multi-ply plywood layers wood veneers with alternating grain directions, creating rigid walls that withstand impacts and securely hold screws and rivets over time. The edges are protected by aluminium angle profiles and corner reinforcements, where a flight case might hit a door frame or another case during loading.
At all eight corners, metal ball corners round off the most exposed edges and provide support points when several flight cases are stacked in a van or storage room. The lid closes with four recessed butterfly latches: turn the butterfly-shaped handle to lock it, and once folded down, it stays flush with the wall without snagging straps. The case has a black and silver finish.
A wheeled platform to move 65 kg unladen
The flight case weighs 65 kg before the screens are even loaded, compared with 85 kg for the first version. With two 50-inch televisions, which generally weigh between 10 and 16 kg each without their stands, the load approaches 90 kg. The platform with four integrated castors avoids having to carry this weight over long distances: push the case from the unloading dock to the booth, then lock the two braked castors to keep it stationary on a sloping floor or during setup.
For steps, ramps or loading into a vehicle, eight recessed metal handles are positioned around the case, allowing several people to lift it without getting in each other’s way. The external dimensions of 1338 × 972 × 462 mm, including castors, allow it to pass through a standard doorway by rolling the case with its narrowest side facing forward.

Frequently asked questions
Should the TV stand be removed before storing it?
Yes. With a maximum thickness of 70 mm per screen, no stand will fit while attached to the panel. The detached stand fits in the accessories compartment, with its screws in a bag so nothing gets lost.
Can a 55-inch TV fit in it?
Rarely. A 55-inch screen is usually between 1.22 and 1.24 m wide without its stand, which is barely less than the maximum dimension of 1235 mm, leaving no room for side foam. For larger screens, the Power Acoustics screen flight case range includes larger sizes.
Can you transport just one screen in it?
Yes, the second slot then remains empty. It’s best to check that the screen on its own doesn’t move once the lid is closed, and fill the space with foam or a moving blanket if needed, because a screen that can slide takes a hit every time you brake.
Does the flight case protect against rain?
No. A plywood flight case with butterfly latches protects against impacts, not water: the lid has no watertight seal. For a short trip in the rain, a tarp is sufficient, and Power Acoustics offers a separate range of IP65 cases for damp or dusty environments.
How many people are needed to load it into a van?
On level ground, one person is enough thanks to the castors. To lift nearly 90 kg when loaded into a van without a tail lift, at least two people are needed, while four make the task comfortable, each using a pair of handles. A loading ramp avoids having to carry it.
What’s the difference compared to the first version of the dual-screen 50 flight case?
The first generation weighed 85 kg and accommodated screens up to 140 mm thick, a dimension dating back to deeper plasma screens. The MK2 sheds 20 kg by reducing this thickness to 70 mm, suited to today’s flat-panel screens, and retains only eight handles instead of fourteen.
Is the flight case suitable for professional monitors and display screens?
Yes, as long as the screen meets the dimensions of 1235 × 900 mm and 70 mm in thickness. Digital signage monitors or touchscreens used at trade shows and for rental fall within these limits, provided their stands are removed and the thickest point of the casing is measured.
