Vogel’s Elite TVM 5705: fixed TV mount 13 mm from the wall

Once the screen is mounted, thirteen millimetres separate the back of the TV from the wall. This is the smallest gap in the entire Vogel’s range, and it is the reason this Elite series fixed mount exists. It accommodates screens from 40 to 110 inches weighing up to 100 kg. A guidance system helps position a large TV on its mounting plate without fumbling, and the warranty lasts 15 years.

A TV flush against the wall, with no angle adjustment

The complete mount measures 706 mm wide by 435 mm high and just 13 mm deep, roughly the thickness of a recent OLED panel. Mounted this way, a slim TV sits close against the wall rather than floating several centimetres away. The steel plates are completely hidden behind screens from 40 inches upwards. This profile has a direct trade-off: the mount is fixed, with no tilt or swivel. The installation height therefore needs to be decided once and for all. In a living room, the centre of the picture is generally positioned at seated eye level. A window reflection cannot be corrected by turning the screen, so this needs to be anticipated when choosing the wall.

The short distance from the wall also means checking the TV’s connections before buying. Side-facing or downward-facing sockets rarely cause problems. Sockets facing straight out from the back, however, leave little room for a stiff HDMI cable: a right-angle connector or a cable with a short plug often solves the issue. The mount’s integrated cable management then keeps the cables behind the screen so they do not stick out at the edges.

GuidanceSystem for mounting a large screen without fumbling

Placing an 85- or 100-inch TV on a wall plate always takes two people, and the difficulty lies in alignment: the people carrying it cannot see the attachment points behind the panel. The patent-pending GuidanceSystem addresses this problem with strips fitted with steel hooks screwed to the back of the TV. As the screen approaches the wall, these hooks engage with the wall plate and guide it down into the correct position. A click lock secures the TV as soon as it is in place, with no pull cord to tug or tool required. A lateral lock also prevents it from sliding horizontally along the plate. To remove it, two people lift the screen vertically and unhook it.

A 700 mm plate compatible with most VESA mounting patterns

The mount is universal. It accepts VESA mounting patterns from 100 x 100 mm to 600 x 400 mm, including the most common intermediate combinations (200 x 200, 300 x 300, 400 x 400, 600 x 400, etc.). The VESA mounting pattern is the spacing between the four threaded holes on the back of the TV. It is listed in the screen’s manual. The TV-side interface covers a maximum width of 675 mm and height of 432 mm.

The wall plate is 700 mm wide and has two vertical rows of screw holes. On a timber stud wall, this width allows it to be screwed into two studs without an adapter, even with the common 60 cm spacing. The double row provides leeway for locating the timber. The supplied wall mounting kit includes fischer DuoPower wall plugs, universal plugs suitable for both solid and hollow materials. With a heavy screen on plasterboard, anchoring into the studs or a load-bearing wall remains essential, and the online manual details the various scenarios.

Drilling guided by a template and the DrillRight app

A drilling template placed against the wall marks the exact hole positions. It avoids tape-measure measurements and errors of a few millimetres that are enough to leave a large screen off-centre. The Vogel’s DrillRight app, available on iOS and Android, guides installation step by step and includes a level that replaces a spirit level. The quick installation guide is in the box. The full manual can be viewed online at manuals.vogels.com/fr/tvm5700.html. The box contains the wall mount, the wall mounting kit, the TV mounting kit with the hook strips, the template and the guide.

Recyclable steel, TÜV certification and a 15-year warranty

The mount is made almost entirely of steel (just over 2 kg), with 64 g of plastic parts. The assembly is declared 100% recyclable, and its carbon footprint is 7.2 kg CO₂ equivalent. TÜV certification confirms that the mount has passed this independent organisation’s load and safety tests. Vogel’s provides a 15-year warranty, as it does for the entire Elite series. The mount is intended for indoor use only.

Frequently asked questions

Can the screen be tilted downward if it is installed high up, above a fireplace for example?

No, the mounting plate is fixed and offers no angle adjustment. For a screen positioned well above eye level, a tilting mount provides a better viewing angle and reduces contrast loss on LCD panels viewed from below.

How do I access the TV's ports once it's mounted?

The mount does not have a service position that moves the screen away from the wall. To connect a new device, two people are needed to take the TV off the mount. The easiest option is to connect all the necessary cables before installation and allow for one or two spare cables if you plan to add a console or set-top box later.

Can the mount be used for a larger TV in the future?

Yes, as long as the new screen is between 40 and 110 inches, weighs no more than 100 kg and has a supported VESA mounting pattern. Simply screw the hook brackets onto the new TV. The wall plate stays in place.

Can this bracket be mounted on a plasterboard partition wall?

Yes, provided care is taken with the anchoring. The supplied fischer DuoPower wall plugs work in hollow materials, but for a large TV, securing it to the wall studs is preferable. The width of the mounting plate and its double row of holes make it easier to screw into the wood.

Do I need a spirit level for installation?

It’s not essential: the DrillRight app includes a level that uses the smartphone’s sensors, and the drilling template positions the holes relative to one another. A conventional level is still useful if you prefer a visual check of the mounting plate once it’s screwed in place.

Is the mount suitable for a very thin OLED TV?

Yes, in fact, this type of panel is where the 13 mm depth is most noticeable. OLED panels often have a very thin upper section and a thicker electronics module at the bottom, where the VESA holes are located. The mount attaches to this module, leaving the thin part of the screen virtually flush against the wall.

Can it be installed on a covered patio?

No, the mount is not designed for outdoor use, even in a sheltered area. Humidity and temperature fluctuations are not among the conditions for which it is certified.
