Vogel's SOUND 3550
Soundbar Bracket for TV Mount
When the TV swivels on an articulated arm and the soundbar stays fixed to the wall, the picture faces the sofa while the sound points towards the middle of the room. The SOUND 3550 corrects this mismatch by attaching the soundbar directly beneath the screen, using the TV’s mounting points: both turn as one unit, and the sound stays aligned with the picture, whatever angle you choose.
A soundbar that follows every turn of the screen
The SOUND 3550 fits between the back of the TV and the wall mount plate. Two 300 mm vertical uprights screw onto the screen’s VESA interface, with mounting hole spacing from 100 to 600 mm, then the Vogel’s swivel TV mount attaches over them, just as it would without the bracket. A horizontal rail, adjustable up to 760 mm, connects the uprights and supports the two brackets that hold the soundbar. The soundbar sits approximately 10 mm below the screen’s lower edge, and its height adjusts along the uprights to suit the TV’s design and the soundbar’s dimensions.
The 5 and 10 mm spacers supplied in the kit accommodate contours on the back of the TV when the VESA inserts are recessed or surrounded by connectors. Vogel’s pairs this assembly with its own swivel TV mounts, and the instructions set out one rule to follow: the TV mount’s tilt function must not be used once the soundbar is installed. The arm can swivel and extend freely, but the screen remains vertical.
A universal bracket that adapts to the soundbar
The brackets support three mounting methods, depending on what the soundbar manufacturer provides: via threaded inserts on the back, via those underneath, or via a keyhole slot. They measure up to 125 mm high by 85 mm deep, leaving room for thick models as well as very slim soundbars. The supplied screws range from M3 to M8 and cover most insert sizes on the market, while felt pads protect the soundbar’s finish where it touches the brackets.
The maximum load is 6.5 kg. Vogel’s lists the Sonos Arc, Arc Ultra, Beam and PLAYBAR, as well as the Bose SoundTouch 300 and 700, among the compatible models, and states compatibility with soundbars from Samsung, LG, Heos, Panasonic, JBL, Harman Kardon and Yamaha. A Sonos Arc, among the heaviest on this list, remains below the limit. Heavier soundbars, often featuring additional integrated modules, require a weight check before ordering.
Black steel, aluminium and cables secured along the uprights
The SOUND 3550 combines black steel for the load-bearing parts with aluminium, with a black finish that blends in behind most TVs. It is certified by TÜV, an organisation that checks the strength and safety of mounts, and Vogel’s provides a 5-year warranty. Adhesive cable clips guide the soundbar’s HDMI cable and mains lead along the structure, preventing wires from dangling when the arm swivels. The kit also includes cover stickers and two Allen keys in sizes 8 and 10; a spirit level is not supplied and remains useful for aligning the soundbar with the bottom of the screen.

Frequently asked questions
How do I know if my TV mount can support the extra weight?
The instructions require the combined weight of the TV, soundbar and SOUND 3550 to remain below the TV mount’s maximum load capacity. Add together the weight of the screen without its stand, the soundbar and the SOUND 3550, then compare the result with the wall mount’s stated load capacity. With an articulated arm extended, it is best to leave a margin rather than aim for the exact limit, as the force on the wall increases with distance.
Does the 760 mm rail limit the length of the soundbar?
No. The rail determines the spacing between the two brackets, not the length of the soundbar, which can extend beyond either side. A Sonos Arc, which is over a metre long, rests on the two brackets and extends well beyond the rail. What matters is that the soundbar’s mounting points fall within the brackets’ adjustment range.
My soundbar doesn't have mounting holes, can I still install it?
The three mounting methods rely on threaded inserts on the back or underside, or on a keyhole slot. A soundbar without any mounting points cannot be securely held by the SOUND 3550. The soundbar’s manual or a view of its back is enough to check this.
Which screw should I choose from the supplied hardware?
The diameter depends on the soundbar’s threaded inserts: the supplied screws cover sizes M3 to M8. The soundbar’s manual or the screws supplied with its original mount indicate the correct size. A screw that is too long can touch the internal electronics, so it is best to check the depth by hand before tightening.
Could the soundbar block the TV's infrared receiver?
With around ten millimetres of clearance beneath the screen, a tall soundbar can block the remote control sensor, often located in the centre of the bottom edge. Height adjustment helps keep this sensor clear. Soundbars connected via HDMI eARC are generally controlled using the TV remote, making this less of an issue for the soundbar, but the screen’s sensor must remain visible.
Can it be used with a fixed TV mount?
Vogel’s states that it is compatible with its swivel TV mounts. The benefit of the SOUND 3550 is that the soundbar follows the screen’s movements; with a fixed mount, it is simpler to attach the soundbar to the wall using its own bracket.
Does mounting affect the distance between the TV and the wall?
The SOUND 3550 fits between the back of the screen and the TV mount plate, with 5 or 10 mm spacers added if required by the back of the TV. The screen therefore sits slightly farther from the wall than with direct mounting, which is particularly relevant for a swivel mount folded back against the wall.
