Spectral Cinema CI2700
Home theater cabinet for a 100-inch screen
A 100-inch picture in your living room, without a wall-mounted screen or a ceiling-mounted projector. Spectral, a Dutch manufacturer of audio-video furniture, combines an ultra-short-throw projector, resting on a central shelf, with an electric screen that rises out of a 2.69 m low cabinet for viewing before retracting back inside. The rest of the time, only glass or fabric fronts are visible.
Three modules spanning 2.69 meters
The cabinet combines two storage units measuring 88.8 cm wide and a 91.4 cm central module. This central module houses both the projector shelf and the casing into which the screen retracts. An ultra-short-throw projector sits just a few dozen centimeters from the projection surface and projects its image upwards at a very wide angle, so it does not need to be installed at the back of the room or on the ceiling. Here, it rests on the central shelf, and the motorized screen rises above the cabinet at the start of the viewing session. When raised, the screen reaches 190 cm from the floor and provides a 100-inch picture, measuring 254 cm diagonally, or approximately 2.21 m wide by 1.25 m high in a 16:9 aspect ratio. At the end of the film, it retracts into its casing and the unit returns to its height of 26.6 cm, excluding feet.
A fixed shelf as standard, motorized as an option
With an ultra-short-throw projector, a change of just a few centimeters in the distance between the lens and the screen is enough to alter the picture size and sharpness at the edges. As standard, the projector rests on a fixed shelf. An optional motorized shelf extends towards the front of the cabinet to bring the projector into its projection position, then retracts once viewing is over. When extended, it protrudes by approximately 18 cm, increasing the depth from 58 cm to around 76 cm. A gap of 3 to 4 cm must also be left between the back of the cabinet and the wall, bringing the footprint to approximately 80 cm during projection. This dimension should be taken into account when positioning a coffee table, or in a living room where people walk in front of the cabinet.
A screen to suit the room’s lighting
The screen is sold separately. The central module’s casing accommodates the Lumene Eden UHD 4K/8K Platinum 200C or 240C, Lumene Eden extra bright UST 200C or 240C, and Projeo Rise ALR UST 100 or 120 motorized screens. The extra bright UST and Rise ALR UST models feature an ALR (Ambient Light Rejection) screen surface. This surface reflects light arriving from below, from the projector positioned at the foot of the screen, towards the viewer, while reducing light coming from ceiling lights or windows. Contrast and black levels hold up better in a living room that remains lit. The Platinum screen surface in the Eden UHD 4K/8K range does not have this treatment: it requires a room where the lights can be dimmed during the film.
Glass or acoustic fabric fronts
The fronts consist of glass or acoustic fabric drop-down doors, or glass drawers. The fabric lets sound pass through. A soundbar or speakers can therefore be concealed behind it without compromising sound reproduction. Inside, the units are designed to accommodate audio equipment and route cables out of sight. The gloss glass is available in 13 solid colors, including snow white, granite, cobalt and burgundy, and in 5 metallic shades such as basalt, champagne and slate gray. The fabric comes in 5 shades, including carbon and pebble.
Four ways to stand the cabinet on the floor
A choice of Puck glides or Edge feet is included, and this choice changes the overall look. Puck glides, small height-adjustable 2.5 cm plastic supports, allow the cabinet to be leveled and keep it close to the floor, for a total height of 29.1 cm. The black Edge feet, which can be lacquered, raise it by 13 cm and leave an open space underneath: the cabinet appears to float and reaches a height of 39.6 cm. Two options complete the selection. The Base plinth is a recessed 2.5 cm MDF plinth that makes the cabinet appear to hover just above the floor. The Frame base is a continuous 13 cm metal frame that can also be lacquered.

Frequently asked questions
Which projector should be placed on the shelf?
An ultra-short-throw projector is required. Each model has its own throw distance for producing a 100-inch image and its own dimensions. Both must be checked against the chosen screen before purchase, and our team can check the compatibility of the projector, screen and furniture combination.
Is a specific ceiling height required?
With the screen extended, the unit reaches 190 cm from the floor. A standard 2.50 m ceiling therefore leaves room to spare. Above all, the wall behind the area where the screen extends must be kept clear: a shelf, wall light or picture hung too low would obstruct the screen as it rises.
Can a subwoofer be added?
Yes. An optional subwoofer opening is available in either the left or right cabinet. The side is chosen according to the room layout and the location of the nearest power outlet. This keeps the subwoofer neatly stored in the furniture while projecting bass into the room.
Glossy glass or satin glass: which should you choose?
Glossy glass comes as standard. It provides deeper colors, but reflects lamps and windows. Optional satin glass produces fewer reflections. This is an advantage directly beneath a screen, where stray light should not draw the eye during a film.
Can I get a color that isn't on the color chart?
Yes. A RAL colour can be produced on request for a quotation. The Edge legs and Frame base can be lacquered, allowing the colour of the base to match that of the fronts.
Is there a version for a larger screen?
The Spectral Cinema CI3150 measures 314 cm wide and accommodates a 120-inch screen, or 304.8 cm diagonally. It features the same fronts and legs as the CI2700.
