Spectral Core 40
Spectral Core 40
Beneath a TV, this low cabinet, 40 cm high and 48 cm deep, can store equipment behind a glass front. It can also conceal a soundbar behind sound-transparent fabric, or accommodate a drawer for remote controls and game controllers. Its width ranges from 45 to 195 cm. It can be wall-mounted, placed on the floor or fitted with legs, and is made in the Netherlands.
The tallest of the three versions in the Core range
The Core range comes in heights of 20, 30 and 40 cm, with the same colours and options. The 40 cm version offers the most internal space: it can accommodate an AV receiver, a Blu-ray player and a console. The 20 and 30 cm versions are more discreet beneath the screen, but offer less storage. The cabinet is made of 19 mm black MDF, a stable, uniform panel of compressed wood fibres. It is clad in 4 mm safety glass, including the top. This top is made from a single piece across the full width, with no visible joint, whatever width is chosen: 45, 60, 90, 120, 135, 150, 165, 180 or 195 cm. There is a size to suit anything from a small bedroom screen to a large living room TV.
A different front depending on what is concealed
The glass drop-down door is available in all widths. It opens downwards and provides access to the entire cabinet. When closed, it conceals the equipment behind a smooth surface in the same colour as the top. In the double-glass version, the front is divided into two horizontal bands, giving the cabinet a slimmer profile.
From 120 cm wide, the drop-down door can be made with acoustic fabric, a stretched textile that lets sound through: the soundbar plays through it while remaining hidden. It rests on a height-adjustable support, which can be adjusted to position its speakers directly behind the fabric. The back of the cabinet has a cut-out to accommodate wall sockets, and an opening for a subwoofer is available as an option with this front.
In widths of 45, 60 and 90 cm, the front can also be a single- or double-glass drawer with soft closing. Rather than bending down to search at the back of the cabinet, you pull out the drawer and its contents come within easy reach. This is practical for remote controls, game controllers or discs.
On the wall, on glides or on Edge legs
The choice of installation method comes at no extra charge. When wall-mounted, the cabinet retains its 40 cm height and does not touch the floor, making it easier to clean underneath, provided the wall is strong enough to support it. Placed on its 2.5 cm glides, it measures 42.5 cm high. On the 13 cm black Edge legs, it reaches 53 cm. The floor then remains clear without drilling into the wall, and a screen placed on the top sits higher, closer to eye level when seated.
Concealed cables and a TV on a swivel stand
Inside, cables run from one end of the cabinet to the other. Removable rear panels conceal them and are easy to take off to connect a new device, then put back in place. An optional cable outlet in the upper section routes cables through the top of the cabinet to the TV.
If the wall cannot support the screen, or if you prefer not to drill into it, a pole with a swivel mount is available as an option. It accommodates TVs with a diagonal of 139.7 to 215.9 cm (55 to 85 inches), weighing up to 50 kg, and allows the screen to be angled towards the viewers’ seating positions.
Thirteen glass colours, five fabric colours
The gloss glass is available in 13 colours. Ten are neutral shades: snow white, grey, pebble, sand, stone, granite, shadow, smoke, black and espresso. The other three are bolder colours: powder pink, cobalt and burgundy. For the soundbar front, the acoustic fabric comes in silver, grey, pebble, carbon or black, while the rest of the cabinet retains the glass colour. Pebble fabric with pebble glass creates a uniform front, while carbon fabric beneath sand glass creates contrast.

Frequently asked questions
What width should I choose in relation to the size of the TV?
The unit should be at least as wide as the screen so that the overall setup looks balanced. A 65-inch TV is approximately 145 cm wide, so a model measuring 150 cm or more is preferable. For a 55-inch TV, approximately 123 cm wide, a 135 cm unit is suitable.
Can the unit be mounted on a plasterboard partition?
Wall mounting requires a solid wall, such as concrete or brick. A plasterboard partition is not suitable, especially once the unit is filled with equipment. In this case, the pads or Edge feet are the safest solution.
What size TV does the swivel pole support?
The pole supports screens with a diagonal of 139.7 to 215.9 cm, or 55 to 85 inches, with a maximum load of 50 kg. The TV’s weight, listed in its specifications, must remain below this limit.
Can you add a subwoofer to a soundbar hidden inside the cabinet?
Yes. With the acoustic fabric front, an opening for a subwoofer is available as an option. You need to check that the subwoofer’s dimensions are compatible with the height and depth of the cabinet.
Can a receiver stay behind a closed flap?
A receiver heats up during operation and needs airflow around it. It is best to leave a few centimetres of clearance above and behind the unit, and check the clearances specified by its manufacturer. The 40 cm version, the tallest in the range, provides the most clearance.
Will the deepest devices fit in the cabinet?
The external depth is 48 cm. The usable space is slightly less due to the panels and cable routing at the rear. You also need to allow for plugs connected to the back of the devices, which add a few centimetres to their depth.
