Why an Acoustically Transparent Screen?

In movie theaters, the speakers are located behind the screen, so the synchronization between sound and on-screen action is perfect without any delay. The resulting drawback is … the sound has to be re-equalized to compensate for the losses and phase shifts caused by the micro-perforated PVC screens; this can be tolerated in large theaters where the audience is 10-15 meters from the screen.

The Screen Excellence acoustically transparent screens on fixed frames provide the best video image possible. They offer a stable and perfectly flat projection surface under all circumstances.

The U.See FF range uses the proprietary Enlightor fabric, lined with a black and opaque backing layer to avoid any unwanted reflections and enhance contrast.

Mounted on a wide frame (8 cm) covered with black anti-reflective velvet, they can be easily assembled on site.

About the acoustically transparent Enlightor fabric:

The proprietary fabric from Ultimate Sound Enlightened E-maging (Screen Excellence) is unique on the market. It provides a precise and vivid image with any type of video projector, as well as a level of acoustic transparency that no other projection surface has been able to match to date.

Its color rendering is totally neutral and stable, and the loss of gain due to its acoustic transparency is negligible, especially compared to that of perforated screens. This is achieved thanks to its woven structure made from a composite thread, which avoids all the problems inherent to perforated or micro-perforated screens.

The best known of these problems is the incompatibility between micro-perforated screens and DLP technology projectors, which results in moiré phenomena. The Enlightor fabric is not affected by any parasitic phenomena, due to its woven structure.

Not only does the Enlightor fabric overcome all the obstacles to the use of acoustically transparent screens in Home Cinema, but it also offers exceptional image reproduction qualities through its contrast, neutrality and precision.

Finally, the Enlightor fabric complies with the most demanding safety standards: Flame-retardant (US), Non-feu M1 (F,S,I) and B1 (UK).

The dimensions given are those of the fabric; you will need to add 8 cm on each side for the aluminum frame covered with black velvet to absorb any stray light.
