Inakustik Reference NF-1205 AIR Pure Silver | XLR (XLR Analog Audio Cables)
Moving from copper to pure silver changes just one parameter in the Referenz NF-1205 AIR range, but it is the conductor itself. At 61.35 S/m, silver conducts around 6% better than copper, and in-akustik distinguishes solid silver from silver-plated copper, to which the brand attributes a more metallic character in listening. Everything else comes from the copper version: fifth-generation Air Helix insulation (conductors suspended in clips, insulated by almost 100% air, with the helix extending into the plugs), symmetrical geometry, Cross Link Super Speed waveguide with individually enamelled strands, dense tinned copper braid shielding, PVC-free polyethylene monofilament sheath, 13 mm diameter.
The 180° XLR plugs rotate by ±45° each, or ±90° from one end of the cable to the other: as sockets are not oriented in the same way from one device to another, the connection is no longer forced into a twist. Rhodium-plated tellurium copper contacts, solid metal body, soldered assembly. Hand-assembled in Germany, with 254 components and 855 m of silver wire for a 1.5 m pair. Lengths from 1 to 2 m in the catalogue, custom lengths on request. Space behind the cabinet is still required, as these 13 mm cables do not bend easily.
