The Chroma 10 Coaxial is the entry-level model in Wireworld’s coaxial digital cable range, below the Ultraviolet 10 with its silver-plated copper conductors. It carries the S/PDIF signal, the digital audio connection via RCA or BNC sockets, between a CD player, a streamer or a set-top box and a converter, an amplifier or a home cinema receiver. Its 75-ohm impedance is the value specified by the standard to ensure the signal arrives without unwanted reflections.

Its design is nothing like an ordinary coaxial cable, usually made of a central core surrounded by shielding. Three oxygen-free copper conductors, each divided into twelve insulated strands with a cross-sectional area of 0.16 mm², follow Wireworld’s patented Tri DNA Helix geometry: parallel strands wound in a helix, maintaining a consistent arrangement along the entire length. Composilex 5 insulation reduces the noise produced by friction between materials when the cable moves.

The brand’s proprietary Gold-Tube RCA plugs have 24-carat gold-plated contacts. The Chroma 10 is available in RCA, BNC or a mixed RCA-to-BNC version, in lengths from 0.5 to 6 m, enough to reach a device installed at the other end of the cabinet.
