In addition to increasing the frames generated from 50 to 200 images per second, the backlight control has evolved thanks to zone division. The precise flickering of the backlight reduces afterimages, producing fast and fluid movements without blur. Images of sports, action scenes and other rapid movements are sharp and clear.

Intense black images are possible thanks to a new filter that eliminates external reflections. A new backlight zone control technology divides the display into 16 parts and allows more detailed brightness control to produce images with more pronounced contrast. Images of night skies have intense shades of black, and nighttime images of lake and sea surfaces are superb and detailed.

VIERA Connect allows users to enjoy video and music, sports, games, and a variety of other content in addition to standard TV movies and shows on a high-quality widescreen using a simple remote control.

The browser supports HTML5 pages, so you can browse the Internet as you do with a PC. But unlike a PC, the large screen allows the whole family or a group of friends to comfortably watch a wide variety of content.
