Coming from a high-quality Audio Technica M, it's a big step forward in clarity, instrument precision, and bass, but the Project Perspex 6b turntable also plays a significant role ;-).

After testing Rega, Nagaoka (an excellent M cartridge by the way), a Lyra Delos (my current high-end on my RP8), and finally a Dynavector 10x5, I needed to find the cartridge in perfect harmony with my Sutherland PH3D and my brand new Technics SL120GR. I had read a lot of good things about the Quintet bronze and its Fine Line diamond, but I found the price a bit too high. The substantial promotion from HomeCiné Solutions made me take the plunge. And I don't regret it: very rich, detailed mids but with a velvety smoothness, an upper midrange that is no less impressive without being fatiguing, and above all clean and taut bass, with a nice depth (who said Ortofon lacked bass?) with a nice respect for dynamics and the stereo soundstage. It certainly doesn't have the aura of the Black, but it's not far off and could rival much more expensive cartridges. And the break-in period isn't even done yet! This bodes well for the future (count about 50 hours). In short, a great discovery and many hours of pleasure to come (as a result, my CD player is stored away in the closet) to rediscover my vinyl records.
