The sound of a music system is inevitably linked to its environment. Just as the performance of loudspeakers is influenced by their interface with the structure of a listening room, the same is true for the performance of audio electronic circuits. Microphony, the microscopic disturbance of highly sensitive electronic circuits by mechanical vibrations, is responsible for this, and even with the many measures taken in Naim’s electronic circuits to minimize mechanical vibrations, it still has an influence. Minimizing microphony, by providing support and isolation, as well as providing an elegant solution for equipment installation, are the two functions of the Fraim equipment support systems.

The technological challenge of reducing microphony using an equipment support is complex. It requires the support to have minimal physical contact with the external environment, while offering multiple, extremely rigid, decoupled and non-resonant support platforms. This is a challenge that can only be met through tenacious pursuit of technological innovation and painstaking selection of materials. The first Naim Fraim was launched in 2002, and since then, all Naim electronic products have used it as a support during development.
