Its direct drive motor allows playback of 33 and 45 rpm records; the die-cast aluminum platter and extra-thick damping mat minimize resonance while maintaining a discreet design that integrates into contemporary listening environments.

The J-shaped tonearm, designed to minimize tracking error, is inspired by original Audio-Technica models from the 60s and 70s. It complements the clean lines of the AT-LP5 and comes standard with a lightweight Audio-Technica AT-HS10 headshell, as well as a high-end AT95EX dual moving magnet cartridge.

The turntable features a switch to engage the AT-LP5’s built-in phono preamp for direct connection to a line input on an amplifier or external device. In Bypass mode, the output signal is from the cartridge, for amps equipped with a moving magnet phono stage or external phono preamp. The AT-LP5 also comes with Audacity® digitization software for MAC or PC, a USB cable, and an RCA / RCA stereo cable, allowing you to connect the turntable directly to your computer and transfer your vinyl collection to digital format using the USB output.
