Moving coil cartridge with non-magnetic core, developed based on the AT50ANV model.
This product builds upon the basic design of the AT50ANV non-magnetic core moving coil cartridge; the frame on which the coil wire is wound is no longer titanium, but a new injection-molded liquid polymer. This product also reduces the weight of the moving assembly compared to the AT50ANV, resulting in an extremely clear and natural sound with a three-dimensional recreation of the sound space typical of non-magnetic cores. Additionally, this product has a rated output voltage of 0.12 mV.
Liquid crystal polymer armature
The liquid crystal polymer used for the coil winding frame not only possesses excellent mechanical strength, but also exclusive properties that improve mechanical stability as it becomes thinner. It is therefore the most suitable material for phono cartridge moving assemblies. It has high vibration absorption properties, which improves sound quality by eliminating unwanted vibrations when the stylus moves, generating the output voltage.
Newly designed magnetic circuit for maximum magnetic energy
The magnetic circuit of this cartridge uses a large neodymium magnet, with twice the volume of traditional audio-technica moving coil models with ferrite cores (maximum energy product (BHmax) of 50 [kJ/m3]). The permendur magnetic circuit parts surrounding the magnet are of a new design to obtain maximum magnetic field strength in the gap. This results in higher output voltage and improves midrange and bass reproduction - a classic weakness of non-magnetic core moving coil cartridges. The result is balanced reproduction.
Specific Line Contact stylus, 0.26 mm diameter boron cantilever
The Line Contact stylus has a curvature of 40 µ x 7 µ (as on the AT50ANV) and a 0.26 mm diameter boron cantilever, ensuring precise transfer of the musical signals engraved in the groove via the moving coils.
Solid machined aluminum base
The base on which the magnetic circuit and moving assembly are mounted is machined from solid aluminum. This provides optimal reading stability.
Hybrid material body, reducing unwanted parasitic resonances
The body of the cartridge is assembled from machined aluminum, with a hard plastic coating to better dampen parasitic resonances, resulting in optimal sound quality and clarity.
